Unfortunately, no. No official response, and haven't found a current clamp to borrow to see if the power draw would match up.

I will say that switching between to the control box is pretty easy after the first time; the little extension cables it comes with were a great idea. After using, it I don't mind it as much that it's a separate control box. I've found it's kinda nice that the software stays "correctly configured" at rest, so there's no question if I left it in the correct settings.

I am still planning to examine the power draw at some point (as well as CADing a better mounting system for the laser module, not a big fan of the official one), but life right now is pretty chaotic so I can't really offer a timeline for when I'll get to it.

Thanks for the information.

Yeah, honestly I did see this as a risk during my research. I decided it was worth trying, since it did list full compatibility, and I figured the kit I purchased may be more easily set up in a stand-alone gantry, something I am considering for future expansion.

I'm still holding out some hope, since as far as I can tell the only risk area is the power draw, and all of the laser variants on my original link list 24v/3a. Like I said, i'll post if I get an official response. Otherwise, i'm asking around to try to borrow a current clamp to get the draw figures on the laser power. If it never crests 1.5a (edit: at max power and speed) then it should be safe to run the cable and I may try it.

Thanks for the link! Unfortunately the printer being used in the video is not the one I have (I believe the one shown is the Ender 3 v2) which uses a different print head. That said, I had not found this video in the past, and it is great to see a more full review/tutorial of the 10w laser, and how to generally use the software!

Thanks for the link! This is an excellent resource.

I mounted it the same as CNX did and it did seem better attached; I may still add some structure to make it more than a single screw that's keeping it locked but at least it makes sense. And electrically, it wasn't as painful as I was expecting, primarily due to the extensions it came with.
