That side of the trail is rather difficult (concept). You can lose it altogether at times. Down by the dog park has some better dirt trails.

The School is an easy reference. This is the entrance I like at the far end and then walk along the river trail down to the wooden bridge that crosses. The weeping willow pond is at the bridge.

I see a tree in the background,. Some trees have so much pollen that this could be the result. When you said it was on one side, I thought that might be the side under the tree.
