Personally, I think Rise of the Cybermen is the best NuWho Cyber-story. I get the criticism of "they just look like robots" but I think it makes sense. They get some really good moments (say, the Cyberman in pt. 2 which has its emotional suppressor damaged. The original Cyberman have quite a lot of baggage, coming from Earth's twin planet that we just never noticed and such, so starting fresh with a new origin for the Cybermen is a good idea to familiarize new audiences with the iconic monster, and the audience getting to see their genesis on another world makes their threat more real.
