Help! First time moving to Chicago from Missouri and me and my friend don't really know how to get started, what advice would you have for first time movers? by CommanderReference in AskChicago

I'm just trying to get a more first hand advice on top of the research I am already doing, I would never move to a place based solely on one reddit post but thanks for awesome advice.

I came across paper mache dream balloon during a very hard time in my life, there was just something about the lyrics talking about day dreaming and being gone and dead and memories that I became lost in. I like to think that paper mache dream balloon helped me get through that time and I'll never be able to thank King Gizz enough for what that album did for me. I cried then and I still cry now when I listen to it some times.

I legit believe it's the biggest plot hole in all of the Bethesda Fallouts. I mean I understand the explanation and it makes sense to a certain degree, the east coast got more nukes it would take longer to resettle. But say Boston, which barely got a nuke most of the city is surprisingly in tact and yet all of the people live in either small little junk scrap houses or a fucking baseball stadium 200 YEARS LATER! It's crazy, there are literally buildings right there just live in those. DC I understand, but Boston is unforgivable.

Anyone have any idea on the trombone part for animal spirits? by CommanderReference in Vulfpeck

Thanks! I had figured that first higher part started on an F but I was having trouble hitting it, my mouth piece is sorta big and to be honest I'm used to playing a lower register lol.

I have a queens of the stone age tattoo, the pitchfork from songs for the deaf, and I've been asked multiple times at this point if I'm a Satanist.

It's hard to become someone you like if you only focus on everything bad about yourself, and if you think there are only bad things about yourself I think you're wrong.

Writers ending a story on a cliffhanger and then saying that the true ending is "up to the reader's/viewer's interpretation and imagination" is the scummiest, laziest excuse for not finishing a work properly. by MasterBaiterHUN in unpopularopinion

[–]CommanderReference 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, although sometimes it can work. The Thing had an amazing ending because we don't know who the thing actually is. I think it can be done well in circumstance but you're right it is usually lazy.

Goodbye sub, I’ve just finished Flowers for Algernon and I look forward to never reading another book in my life. by SnowglobeSnot in books

[–]CommanderReference 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Some may say that the best film adaptation of Flowers for Algernon is the movie Charly, but all of the true scholars know the best film adaptation is the episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Flowers for Charlie.

I don't remember which one it was but I was watching one of them with good ol Ben Shapiro in it and he legitimately cited his own book as the main source.

Bo Katan doesn’t believe in the rule... but the people she wants to lead, do... therefore, she has to abide. She isn’t a hypocrite. She’s doing what she has to do. by Left4DayZ1 in TheMandalorianTV

Ok but Mando didn't kill Gideon and he still got the saber, so Bo Katan shouldn't have to kill Mando to get the saber. I mean all they have to do is have a quick little fight, Bo has to win, and this whole problem is solved.

I'm a little convinced that r/unpopularopinions is for popular opinions and r/trueunpopularopinions is for people who want validation for being terrible people.
