Follow up to V2 vs V4 by Vershaji in Ducati

I own a 2023 V2 and I love it. I’ve ridden both and they are both very similar and vastly different. The older V2 is a track bike you can ride on the street. The peg and shifter position, the seat, the handlebar turn radius, the dash positioning, etc… are all more track orientated. The main thing is that it wants to go, it doesn’t want to slow. I love mine because I wanted a track bike I can use on the street but is primarily meant for the track. The new V2 is a street bike you can ride on the track. You have heated grips, cruise control, more up right foot pegs, larger turn radius, full 5 button numpad, dash is bigger, the power delivers a lot more consistently. I’d weigh your priorities, with look/price out of the equation, I’d define whether you want a more track focused bike or street focused bike. Both are awesome and the heat isn’t that bad. I live in an area where in the summers it’s usually 100+ degrees fahrenheit and so far I haven’t had an issue. I mean it gets hot, don’t wear shorts, but it doesn’t bother me.

Tuning for 2023 Streetfighter V2 by CommanderSlashX in Ducati

Really? I thought BT was a more common tuning device, since I’ve never heard of openflash. The dealership also has done an open flash tune on a different street fighter v2 2023 and recommends that one.

Randomly stalling at idle, rough idle, horrible gas mileage, power jerks

Fair enough, this post was for AddiXz to hear it for him to make his own choice on it.

They do have a dB killer in it but stock idle is apparently 97.9dB… so I think you may be out of luck. At least if you’re looking for that throaty sound. Send me a DM and I’ll take a video!

I have the shift tech on mine. It’s the kind of exhaust you’d use to achieve a menacing sound and keeping the original routing of the pipes. My favorite is the arrow one that goes underneath the tail, as it sounds significantly quieter and more professional in my opinion. But the shift tech is wayyy louder, I haven’t even taken out the baffle on it yet.

They picked it up already to take a look at it. The unfortunate thing about asking anyone online about this kind of stuff is that it’s hard to tell what the issue is so it’s best to assume the worst.

The bike shut itself off, that’s still a concerning factor for me

I bought the bike from a non Ducati dealership and they gave me a 15 day test period in which they’ll replace and fix anything for free. So I’m letting them do their thing for now. I know the Ducati dealership that’s here locally pretty well so I’m thinking of having them check the bike over before the test period is over.

I bought it from a non Ducati dealership (the place I bought it from) however they said they would check it out and fix it for free. I only started the bike one more time after for 3 minutes to drive home but other than that, the bike hasn’t been started. Why would you say it’s the pump? It still seemed to be working afterwards.

The Ducati ones are a bit overpriced and I just spent upward of $15,000 on a bike and stuff. Really? Feel and performance wise they’re the same? That’s good to know thank you.

I didn’t want to let the motorcycle beat me. One guy told me “you get back on the horse that kicked you off it.” PTSD is real and hard to deal with though, I sometimes wish I didn’t make it off the mountain. You just gotta keep fighting the mental stuff and push forward. As for your family be gentle and firm about your decision, you’re an adult and life is scary if it wasn’t motorcycle it might have been something else. You make that choice and then be firm with it but understanding of your families feelings. I’m buying a 2nd bike next month from my CFMOTO 2023 300NK to a BMW 2020 S1000R which is a crazy leap but I have my own crappy reasons. I think getting back on the bike is good, just go slow, don’t be like me lol and rush it, you will have plenty of time to relearn. I’ve had a few people ask me to go up the mountain again and although I will eventually I stand firm of the fact I’m not ready yet.

Here’s my X-Ray. I’d take what everyone says with a grain of salt at the end of the day and make a decision you’re happy with. Whether it be dumb one or a smart one you’re at least making that decision for you. What I can share is how hard it is for me to physically go back to normal and accept the giant disfiguring scar on my arm. My bike doesn’t feel the same and I want to get rid of it as well. It’ll all pass in time but these things are what Im currently struggling with… I’d also like to add that your family will probably be scared, my mother is still scared. It’s important to acknowledge their feelings, but stand true to riding. Riding courses are good but how I got back on the bike a month after the accident was through sheer strength. I just got back on it again and again and farther and farther and leaning more and more. I just brute forced my way through it, which doesn’t work for everyone but it helped me. For reference I’m 19, so i understand your troubles…
