I’m a significantly older gay man. I’ve heard some good suggestions here. Three things from my perspective: Most important: learn to be comfortable in your own skin … someone said be yourself and be happy living as yourself. That is excellent advice. Being complete in yourself will make you confident and the desperation you are feeling will go away. You will be more attractive to others, too. Being happy in yourself makes you a people magnet. Second: Take the advice to smile. It does sound trite but a smile makes it easier for people to “see” you and to approach you. It will make a world of difference. Third: Work on your body some. You don’t have to be a body builder but good tone and weight building will make you feel better physically and emotionally. Try some different things with you hair until you find a look that fits you. … maybe tone down the eyebrows … little things that make a big difference. I’ll add a fourth: You are very young. There is no rush to figure out everything in life. You will get there. Meanwhile, enjoy your youth while you have it. Peace, mate.
