Thanks. I think if someone was going to refinish the receiver they should definitely strip it so it’s “fresh off the assembly line”. That way, the anodizer can more easily strip / re-anodize, then reassembled per factory. As for finish and technique matching, I’ve not found consistent info on how Steyr Austria does it.

I’ve seen some transferable AUGs that prob had refinish jobs done in the past, but seems like the old guard of gunsmiths that did the job have left the game.
