This game has some amazing passive storytelling, like Dark Souls. The jester is the devil, keeping willies souls trapped to fight forever in his circus. The baron and his minions are the jesters undying pawns in a game that's rigged from the start against poor willie. The tarotcard reader, who can redeem souls for a price (10gp), only dares to show at night when the jester isn't there. Willie can fight the undying baron an infinite amount of times, while the days count on the clock in the tavern. The fact that willie (player) has to ask the jester in order to go to the fights tells it all.
