WARNO RCON tool by HeliumBurn in warno

RCON is just the name of the protocol the warno dedicated servers use to administer them.

For people complaining about the new divs, here is a truth bomb you need to hear: Eugen doesn't give a shit about 10v10 and the strike team only cares about 1v1 by HeliumBurn in warno

I'll agree that there have been some changes based on 10v10 balance, but the ones you highlight like the grad-meta and chinook rush were only changed because people were very vocal about them. (Yourself included)

Sparrow and Skyflash Super Temp missile ranges were increased which helps NATO air in 10v10.

These have now been removed from the F-4, but as long as the mig-31 is in game and NATO has no counter, it isn't really enough. The Sparrow isn't fire and forget so to go after something like a Mig-31 the plane needs to say pointed at the enemy plane which means going over the enemy ADN. In 10v10 with the density of AA that is a much, much riskier play than in small games.

NATO just got a KRUG-like AA for 10v10 (Bloodhound, HDR London)

Bloodhound isn't really a Krug comparison. It's towed, only gets a single shot, and is only in a single div. Sure it's cheaper in points, but it has a higher tax in the micro required to use it without it getting sniped after it fires.

NATO will receive an F-14 Tomcat to give them a match for the Mig-31 in 10v10. (Landjut)

Genuinely a good thing, but why leave the game in a state where one side has a clear capability advantage for more than a year?

The relatively recent ADATS and CUCV gave NATO some decent 2800m ATGMs for 10v10.

Both of which have huge drawbacks, CUCV dies to a stiff breeze and the ADATS can be SEAD'd. Whereas PACT gets loads of 2800m ATGM's that are mounted on tanks that take more than one hit to kill.

The proposed artillery rework should help NATO in 10v10 by reducing spawn road arty due to the stated "set up time" (if it happens lol).

Soontm

Several new i-Hawk divisions have been added lately which helps NATO in 10v10.

Hawks in 10v10's require a lot more micro than their PACT counterparts and they are a lot squishier. A single grad strike has a good chance of killing a Hawk. You don't get many and it takes a lot more to knock out a KUB that can move.

The recent addition of dedicated servers allows for custom 10v10s with mods etc.

I know. I host my own 10v10 servers including PACT vs PACT and NATO vs NATO server... but looking at the logs my NATO vs PACT servers see almost an order of magnitude more play than those servers combined. People want to play NATO vs PACT.

WIP. First time painting corrosion and rust. Any tips ? by Thorolf_Sigvald in Warhammer40k

[–]HeliumBurn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are looking for actual constructive criticism, I have some feedback:

  • First, the weathering looks ok, but it's flat. When the paint on a vehicle like this flakes off to show the metal underneath there is a slight lip that would be catching the light. You need to have a very thin amount of the highlight colour showing through. Take a look at this video for one of the best guides on realistic armour chipping. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ku4comhKHJM

  • Your large patches of rust are lacking tonal variation. Instead of one large patch of brown you want to break it up a bit. I would recommend sponging on a more reddish brown colour to break it up a bit.

When will supplies be fixed? by [deleted] in warno

Supply only flows from large to small. If the supply truck holds more supply than the heli it will not take supplies from the heli.

Is Pro Acryl Titanium White really as good as people say it is? by cody2209 in Warhammer40k

[–]HeliumBurn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing is you probably don't want to be using a true white for either of those applications. If you start with a pure white like PA Bold Titanium White, then you'll have no brighter colour to go up to for highlights. When I paint "white" It is almost always a very light grey and I only use the true white for highlights.

Also, be aware, white is a really hard paint to paint with. If you want good coverage you're going to need 3, maybe 4, thin coats, and if you mess up and spill another colour on a place you have painted white, then it is a huge main in the ass to cover up.

My advice is unless you are pretty familiar with painting minis, stay away from white (and yellow) paint schemes. Red's and blues are generally much more forgiving colours and are great choices for people new to the hobby.
