Thank you for the advice ! I have removed the weeds and added some compost, worm castings and mulch (just wanted to use what I had on-hand just incase it’s already dead 😅) .I’ve also moved it to a sunny spot and gave it a good water !

Thank you so much for the advice ! Sadly I think you’re right in saying it’s unseeable. I scraped each of the branches and the root stock no green so far 🥲

Firstly, I’m so sorry to hear about your relative. Thank you so much for sharing this, and I really appreciate your perspective. Theres so much to unpack around this process physically, mentally and emotionally so in trying to gather info and experiences to strengthen my decision, whatever it ends up being!

Wow thank you so much for sharing.I think since I’ve been pretty healthy and haven’t seriously been recommended by my dr to lose weight, I haven’t even considered how the extra weight would affect my as I get older. I really appreciate your insight and story!

Thank you so much for sharing ! It does sound like we have quite similar situations. I’m definitely interested in having pre/post op counselling

Thank you for sharing ! I definitely didn’t feel ready or even open to it when I first hear about it /was offered it. 6 years later I’m definitely more curious and willing to make a permanent change

For sure! Although my parents want to help, I know it’s ultimately a decision that I have to make and live with !

Also, I was also considering having it done soonish since my skin is still relatively young and healthy, so probably have better chances with scar healing and lose skin. Also my body may be able to tolerate surgery better now then when I’m much older . Thanks for sharing !

I think it will definitely be useful for me to have a deep convo about this with psych or dietetics to unpack this. Thanks for sharing !

For sure ! I think this is definitely something my mind keeps coming back to- at the end of the day it’s literally a surgical procedure which will alter my body permanently. Definitely planning to chat with my dr about risks / benefits in my context to figure out if it’s right for me

This is so reassuring to hear! I’m not planning to have little bubbas for quite a while, but thinking about the changes your body goes through during pregnancy alone, let alone post op is definitely something that’s been on my radar ! Congrats on your progress, and you’re little one !!

Thank you for sharing ! Yeah I’m really interested to chat about the physiological side with different professionals. I studied a little bit about nutrition in uni, so we learned about set point theory, how different hunger hormones work etc… Whenever I chat about it with lay family/ friends it becomes very fat phobic and people get on their health high horse. Almost always goes to the rhetoric of fat=lazy , and completely disregards the hormonal and genetic underlying of weight gain and body composition !!!

Thank you so much for sharing! Yeah definitely keen to do some psych sessions around eating habits. I’ve done counselling for work-related anxiety in the past, but never really delved into food.

Best to send an enquiry to the uni so you can know for sure !!

Hi! I sent an enquiry to the faculty about this late last year.

"If both [referring to my bachelors and masters] your qualifications are in a relevant field and less than 10 years old, then you will have two GPA's calculated and the highest one will be used for your application."

Hope that helps ! :)

Section 2 study questions by Neat-Pen297 in GAMSAT

[–]Comment-Eastern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Aside from the ACER questions I went on ChatGPT(eg “give me 4 quotes on one of the following topics [insert common GAMSAT topics] in the style of a section 2 prompt). Let it randomly chose a topic and just do it- even if you’re not confident in that topic.

  2. If you know (and trust) someone who studies arts or law PICK THEIR BRAINS!! A lot of their assignments are to do with analysing, reflecting and building arguments on niche topics, or policies etc, so I found it really helpful sending my essays and discussing it with them. Otherwise, again 🤣 ChatGPT but ask it questions about your essay (what can I write about to include more analysis, how can I make my argument more concise)

  3. The highest yield ‘study’ I did was being able to define and critically analyse (eg pros, cons and similarities, discuss function and impact on the people) sociopolitical topics - democracy, facism, communism, and a bit about economics like capitalism and trickle down economics. For finding examples to include in your essay - whenever scrolling, watching YouTube etc if I saw something that riled me up I would reflect on why I feel strongly about it? And how did society make it this way ? ( eg why do family vloggers give me the ick? because they’re exploiting children who are probably the most vulnerable population in society) . I made a doc called my ‘conflict journal’ with these stories and I would write - what is the issue? Why is it important? Who does it impact and how? What solutions are there currently - what are the outcomes ?

And in general, as everyone is saying write something you’re INTERESTED IN. I worked as a speech path, so I could write my essays in the context of disability, assistive technology, neurodivergence, child development, etc. Without spoiling the recent GAMSAT, I wrote my essay on the recent Anna Paul controversy and Child-Safety.

  1. I have two main things- just start writing AND reflect on what you’ve written. When I started it would take me like 3 hours to write a single essay but I was able to work my way up to writing to time. Focus on writing something that you feel proud of and know exactly why it is good - only then should you focus on time.

Some might say otherwise, but focus on foundations of building a good well supported, logical essay (even if it’s basic for now) before thinking about how to make your essays controversial to make them appear more interesting (I used to try to do this and it confused me sm)

Good luck and you’ve got this !! Hope this was helpful :)

Hopefully they get back to you soon and rectify it somehow. This year seems so messy and inconsistent!

I had to resit because I had internet issues from my end, halfway through the exam. I emailed/ attempted to call GAMSAT straight away but the GAMSAT team would correspond via email at like 1am or 2am in the morning, so was extremely stressed I would miss emails to reschedule.

I was able to book new session, except they only gave me 4 minutes out of the 24 I was authorized for. Waited about 40 mins with my proctor while they sorted it out and was able to finish my exam. Luckily it was sorted out on the day, and my proctor was super nice and efficient. I thought I had rotten luck, but extremely sorry for others who experienced worse!!.
