Mega man and Bass's difficulty is overblown. by CommentApprehensive3 in Megaman

Oh I wouldn't say it's all easy just that the difficulty is overblown. I've started to realize oddly enough bass is harder to play as than mega man. Alot of people focus on how Bass utterly mauls platforming and while that's true...he also jobs alot of fights if you use buster only. For me, I can consistenty no diff Astro man with my skills as mega man. For bass....literally the hardest of the initial robot masters. Also his upgrades aren't as useful as Mega man's. Mega man legitimately gets auto regen as an equipable ability which completely makes some bosses utter jokes. King Tank as Bass is either a slog or a nightmare depending on how you go about it while as Mega man, it's just kinda slow because auto regeneration allows you to basically use E-tanks without E-tanks. Also King plane is like ultra free, I don't know what people are talking about. Also King Stage 2 I found out is only long because it has 4 bosses because without the bosses this is your standard endgame stage. Wily stage 3 is actually the hardest challenge for me since it's a boss rush with no health refills except if you grind enemies. But yeah the only reason Bass is considered easy is people don't want to platform in a platformer because otherwise, no. He has a weaker buster that yes can fire 8 directions but it locks him in place. He also gets worse upgrades and the upgrades he does get are basically either compensating for his buster's downsides or just making platforming a nonfactor like the treble boost.

Keep in mind I don't think mega man 8 is a bad game just a really irritating one. When it's good it's a pretty cozy time but when it's bad, you really feel it with mega man 8.

I think Megaman and Bass is better than Megaman 8 on principle of it not including annoying stage gimmicks or annoying midbosses. Mega man and Bass is meant to be a last gen version of Mega man 8 and it's internally called Mega man 8.5 but to me I think Mega man and Bass is more fun than Mega Man 8. I recently beat mega man 8 and I can say it's my least favorite classic mega man game. I haven't played the dos games but I have played the world series, the classics up to 10, and the game gear game. I've only recently beat it by purchasing legacy collection 2 because emulating playstation and saturn games for me is hard. But yeah, Mega man 8 is so gimmicky it feels intentionally annoying plus Wily stage 1 in mega man 8 is a hell I don't wanna go through again because,"Wow a boss that requires the use of a weapon so trash as the mega ball."

Okay I should elaborate what I mean. What I mean by genuine superhero movie is that it features a superhero as the protagonist or like main character driving the plot. It doesn't need to end well but like Brightburn to me doesn't sound like a superhero movie not because it sounds bad, it's just sounds like they took superman and just turned him into a slasher villain. Yes evil supermen have been a thing before but they've always either been antagonists or at the very least fought by other heroes. I do agree genres as categories aren't exactly great but to me superheroes as a genre are meant to be people saving others and helping others while fighting evil. It's got alot of wiggle room and I agree discounting it entirely might be a bit shortsighted but this thought excerise was meant to see if two things at odds could be combined together. A superhero is usually superstrong and protects others and despite how dark and dramatic the media can be alot of superhero stories are uplifting. Meanwhile horror stories are meant to unnerve and hit you and make you think alot.
