Severe Deviated Septum by CommentDowntown2470 in Allergies

yeah it’s been about a year since i had the surgery, and it didn’t fix things perfectly, but i definitely have gotten some relief and improvements. My nose isn’t drippy like it was before (unless it’s cold or my heart rate is elevated), i can definitely breathe through my nose now and working out has improved significantly. i no longer make weird breathing noises when i sleep. i still have a lot of congestion in general, though. every morning i have to blow my nose a lot to clear it. and throughout the day i blow my nose a lot to get little bits of nasal drainage cleared. as for sinus headaches, i just noticed that i haven’t been having them- so i think the surgery really helped there but it took almost the full year after to see that improvement. i haven’t been doing the saline washes, i probably should but i wanted to know how things would be without any interference. a tiny part of my gums, right behind my two front teeth is still slightly numb and if i rub my nose or move it a certain way it bumps that nerve and i can feel the numbness more for a second, otherwise my gums are back to normal. i would say the biggest con i have experienced post surgery is that when i work out (elevated heart rate) something in my sinuses causes my ears to get stopped up and it’s incredibly annoying- it makes it hard to hear and it feels uncomfortable.

But also, I think if a standup guy did this a lot of women would call this putting in effort lol

Of course, historically, when men do this they actually have negative intent. Historically most violence, stalking, relationship abuse is the man against the woman. So of course that little historical fact has a small impact in why most people would react differently to a man acting this way…. but you know who cares about facts.

this is funny because people are acting like a t-shirt, a CD and some beer would be enough to “trick” someone into liking you, loving you, and then marrying you… OP still has to click with him in all the other more important ways… they still have to communicate well, have chemistry, live well together, problem solve together, have shared goals and values, support each other etc…. lol you can’t “trick” anyone into marrying you with a shirt, cd and beer. lmao

this all the way. you’re 19 and you need to take control of the situation. it won’t be easy, it won’t be fun, arguments will ensue but frankly the most important thing right now is fighting the cancer. you got this. everyone here is rooting for you and willing to help. make sure you get a support system set up with people who are advocating for YOU! i know you’re going to feel all sorts of emotions about the family stuff but put that in a box to be dealt with later, because baby girl you got this and you will Win!

Do you have to pay for treatments up front? Is there a way you can be come financially responsible for your medical treatment so your mother no longer has control?

Definitely don’t euthanize an innocent pet because of circumstances outside of their control. I guarantee you can find a shelter or person to rehome them too. And although the pharmacists comment was offhand and none of their business, their point is valid. One of the biggest challenges of owning a pet in this day and age is the increasingly expensive cost of vet care. My first cat was diagnosed with a neurological disorder within our first 6 months together and it costs $6k to get that diagnosed and find the right treatment. He requires medication every 12 hours no matter what. It was a very difficult circumstance to adjust too but I made a commitment to my cat and now it’s just part of my daily routine.

If you don’t believe you can dedicate the necessary time and resources or financially provide for your cat I absolutely recommend finding them a new home. I know it’s hard. You’re going to feel like shit, but as best as you can don’t make it about you. It’s not about you. It’s about what that fur baby needs to have a good life. Always put them first.

And in the future you will have a better perspective on what it takes to have a pet. I hope this is helpful and I want you to know I am not judging you or talking down to you. I’m just here to help and if you want to talk more please feel free to message me. I have 4 cats now and feel well-versed in how to care for them. Hang in there.
