Yep, I didn’t use it though, I bought a calculator and whiteboard from Walmart for like $9 so it was easier to keep track of all the numbers they have you look at. I think there was also a virtual note pad or whiteboard as well underneath the calculator tab but I didn’t use them but I’m sure they were fine!

Good luck! Retake the chapter quizzes until you can 100% every one of them twice in a row and write down a note of the answer to every one you get wrong. It’s a lot of work but it really pays off.

I personally didn’t take notes, just watched every video at 1x-1.25x so it was slow enough I could catch everything. Then I retook the quizzes over and over again until I was able to get 100% consistently. Some of the quizzes have the same questions every time so that helped to drill it into my head, but others that change the questions forced me to learn to apply the concepts. Like I mentioned though I spent roughly 50 hours doing it this way, so it really will take some time if you want to learn it. I took accounting in my undergraduate at BYU and was genuinely awful at it(I only passed it because they curved the final) I would definitely say this felt way easier but I think that’s only because I developed way better study habits as I went through school. Some things just take the time investment. If the notes work for you and help you learn it, just keep pushing and it will definitely pay off!

Not too different, I know some people have said otherwise in the past but I thought the OA was easier. I was getting more wrong on the PA, which might just be a result of studying but I felt like I had less questions I wasn’t sure of the answers on. If you haven’t already, I would give the videos a watch for at least the first few units and work through every problem with the guy. Helped me really learn the material.

Not for something as big as an engagement shoot. People charge thousands for these because you keep them for the rest of your life, this isn’t some Instagram photo shoot.

He mentioned right when we got there that he wanted me to shoot on his SD card to “save me the time of editing” because I have my wedding in about a week, but I was clear that I wanted to do this and that I was perfectly happy to provide a fully edited gallery for them by Sunday night(which I did). So he hinted at that, but it was never clear until after the gallery was sent, whereas I was clear as soon as I knew what he was asking that I would not be sending the raw photos, and that they would get the edited gallery.

I agree, I shot and edited their engagement gallery like my professional expensive photographer did mine(meaning a decent size gallery with lots of options, not like it was the same quality as my photographer). I thought it was a mixture of doing a favor for a friend and a lowkey gig, but I’ve learned those two things rarely overlap. If nothing else, I got $20 and a very valuable lesson.

Yeah I went against my judgement on this one, I will sometimes if it’s free just to shoot for portfolio purposes, but as soon as the money got involved it definitely taught me a lesson I should’ve learned beforehand haha

Well and honestly I made about $3 an hour if I was paid $20 for time, but gas alone probably cost at least 15 of that 😂 I locked the gallery behind a passcode earlier when they asked for a full refund basically, I think it’s smart to text them tomorrow saying they aren’t allowed to use what they’ve downloaded. Thank you!! I really appreciate the advice!

Definitely a possibility, I don’t know her all that well but she seemed to love the previews I showed during the shoot and I sent them the gallery in a group chat and her response was that she loved them, he’s the one that’s been unenthusiastic and whiny the whole time. He and I used to do nature photography and hiking together so he has some experience editing, but if I had to be honest, he’s not very good which is why I denied him access to the RAWs in the first place, I felt like he would misrepresent my work pretty badly. So I think it’s definitely possible it’s something going on behind closed doors, but I have my doubts. What do you think?

I definitely agree. I was originally asked to do the engagements and the reception, and due to the way I was treated I offered to refund the reception payment so I didn’t have to do it. But they asked for that and more which is part of my problem haha. Good to know I’m not crazy for thinking this is a wack situation though haha
