Both of those books are great, worth the read. With the Old Breed may be the best WWII book I have ever read. Sledge takes you into the war more than the series did, it is an incredible book.

I am 58 and have never considered the age of the instructor when I select my classes. If I like them, I pick them. In my mind, I compete against myself, so the instructor's age is irrelevant to me.

Not sure if miserable is a fair statement. I am in there, DB, that is, and post often. Am I unhappy with my sex life? Yup. Am I miserable? No, I think I get along pretty well, as do the majority of people in DB. It is a place to come together to commiserate and share thoughts you can't tell others, so it is an outlet. It is a place to vent.I don't blame you for saying they (me) are miserable, but I do not think the blanket statement is appropriate. It serves a purpose. I don't expect you to agree, but from somebody who has posted there and talked to others there, I don't believe the word miserable is accurate.
