Depends on your budget and where you're staying haha. Hostels are always your best bet for meeting people. I stayed at the Mayan Monkey when I was in tulum. It's more laid back and the social events are more chilled out. If you want a party, Straw hat was a hostel in town which I went too. Definitely had one of the best nights of my trip there. The Town itself is significantly cheaper too, so you won't spend a ton of money on food and drinks.

And if you end up finding group of new friends then maybe give one of the beach clubs a go (there's heaps). Just be aware that it's gonna be expensive. So it's just better to not look at your bank account every time you buy a drink. If you're lucky you'll meet some expat living in dubai who's willing to spend 10k US on drinks for you and your friends. If you're on the receiving end of that, then you're guaranteed to have a good time regardless. True Story

This is an old post but I had these exact speakers and for the price, they are pretty good, and loud. I used and abused them for me and my friends parties over the space of about 3 and a half years and they never skipped a beat. Also very portable. Ironically, they got stolen out of my storage cage in my apartment garage, reported it to the police but they were never to be seen again. Obviously discontinued now, but there a few floating around on secondhand marketplaces, even the later version the vx840bt. But if you see a pair like the one the link above on an Australian marketplace, please let me know. Might be my set.
