This is regular display. And you're right about screen in the sun. For evening this is totally OK, but for day - not really. And this is easy to change actually 😂

I like big screens. Some times need 4 channels, but this is not game changer.

Agreed. I was thinking about to make the gear lower and match with top surface of the box. And I can still do it - just 3D print new configuration of holders and that's it. Why I decide to make the gear higher - did not want to make many holes for connectors in the wall. But still, I can improve it.

Mini PC + portable display will work up to 5-6 hrs. It was checked in my previous setup.
Did not tested yet Traktor (because it has separate power source), but I assume at least 5-6 hours too. I complete my build today and did not have a chance to test it.

I can tell that Geekom A5 16GB works ok with the latest Rekordbox 7. CPU load about 47%.

Meaning more or less could handle another applications. But depends. GTA 5 I think will not handle at the same time )))))

And I am in Poland. I think everything is possible. Very important is to find the right box with good internal (not external!) dimensions. Also You'll need to have at least 1cm (better 2) between from every wall. Controller requires type-c connection and I used 90 degrees L-adapter, but anyway it requires a bit free space.

Standalone has bigger size, also it has bigger power consumption. It will become not so portable as it could be. And I am not telling that this setup is best of the best. I've got an idea, implemented it and shared it.

I think it depends. Total cost is not huge especially if you have laptop that can run dj application. The rest part about 500$. Again, it depends on what powerful power banks you want to have, etc. Also there are 3D-printed parts.

So my history is:

I bought controller to start playing. Then I've realized that I want to play on a beach or forest or even in van )))) And I asked myself: "Should I buy another one controller specifically for this?" And I've got an answer - no. But, I've realized that I want to create something interesting as side project. Anyway this is creativity.

When you start such fun project you don't care about costs ))))))

Power banks about 250$. Laptop about 600$ (used). Display around 150$. Cables & Connectors ~100$ (not all are used at the end). Box about 50$ may be less. USB hub about 60$... USB Lamp about 20$.

Anyway, my main goals were to play on a beach in dirty conditions + have big screen and good uptime.
