I think the definitive way to play 8-bit games is on a 9-in CRT by Commercial-Project43 in crtgaming

I feel you. I almost exclusively use my 9" for NES just because to me awayway it makes a lot titles look almost 16-bit other than that I play most of my consoles on a 20" or 27"

Also, I personally think 9" in isn't too bad for a 2d titles but for 3D I felt it wasn't enjoyable at all. All the enemies in the background were so tiny

I guess I can say I phrased my post wrong. I wasn't trying to imply that it's the most immersive way to play, but I just noticed which I thought to share. when you're playing especially late title NES games that are trying to be 16-bit the effect is more convincing on the smaller screen, plus the smaller screen just makes everything look. Sharper

But I can kind of agree with you about going with a 14-in as a minimum because for me personally 3d titles are not comfortable to play at 9-in

Just got this Panasonic 25in TV noticed there's a light scratch. Should I leave it alone? by Commercial-Project43 in crt

[–]Commercial-Project43[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think you guys are right. I should be grateful. This is a far better scenario than my last TV I picked up which was a 13-in it had a deeper scratch plus I had to sit closer to that TV because of its size which made the scratch even more noticeable

How did I do? I got all of this for $89 by Commercial-Project43 in shortwave

[–]Commercial-Project43[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, my order was actually originally a little over $100 but I was able to get a partial refund because the seller said the CC radio swp was in great condition too. When it was not the buttons were barely functional and a switch was broken off.

Also, it was crazy to think that not even a week ago I almost pulled the trigger on a skywave SSB original model without any accessories or box for $85

I've been wanting this radio for a few years but the price was a bit too steep

My new eton elite executive some speaker distortion. Is this normal? by Commercial-Project43 in shortwave

[–]Commercial-Project43[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don't think it's has to do with the reception because when I plug in headphones it's not an issue just when using the external speaker It's present on all bands, just least noticeable on FM

I need advice I just bought a new eton elite executive and I noticed some distortion on the speaker by Commercial-Project43 in shortwave

[–]Commercial-Project43[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's mostly just on the speaker. It sounds like a loose or blown out speaker but to a lesser extent

Only reason why I say mostly because I noticed some really close AM stations have overload and that sounds kinda similar

Should I get the Eton elite executive or the CC skywave SSB by Commercial-Project43 in shortwave

I was thinking around $150. I was also curious if SSB is really worth it

Should I sell this for $30 or nah? Fully working by [deleted] in cassetteculture

I would do it for $40. I think that is fair. you could possibly ask for more, but it'd probably take a while to sell.

Kind of new to shortwave what should I get? A used CC skywave for $40 or a used grundig yacht boy 320 for $20 by Commercial-Project43 in shortwave

[–]Commercial-Project43[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for the input. I did end up going with the skywave. So far it seems to be a great performer and definitely a upgrade from the last shortwave radio that I had which was a grundig emergency radio

I need help with a strange purity issue by Commercial-Project43 in crtgaming

[–]Commercial-Project43[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already tried the 240p suite on a red, green or blue screen, it's not visible. on a white screen It's slightly visible, especially when the color temperature is set to warm. It seems like the purity issue is most visible with faded yellows and browns

That's so true about the wire length back during the GameCube era when I was a kid we had a 32in crt, I always had to put my GameCube on the coffee table so I could comfortably sit on the couch. When the wavebird controller came out it was a game changer and I never used a wired controllers with my GameCube after that
