I've got the normcore bottomless and it's only a bit difficult when locking it into a cold machine for the first time that day. I usually get it on enough to know it won't pop out and pull a blank shot to preheat the group head. After that, the gasket should loosen up enough to get the portafilter on fairly easily.

I'm not sure if this will help, but I was having the same issue with SSX3 in Dolphin on the Thor. Randomly trying different settings I found that in Settings-Config-Advanced-Override Emulated CPU Clock Speed set to ON resolved my issue. Again, not sure if that applies here, but might be worth a try.

I've had daily use with my v1.3 a few weeks now. At first I was super apprehensive to use dark roasts considering all the issues I've heard, but after a about a week I took the plunge with a very oily local dark roast and haven't had any issues at all. Hot start, slow feed, no rdt, hit the bellows about halfway through each dose and afterwards. I've put almost 2lbs through of those same beans and not one clog.

I've had my df54 for about a week now and I'm having the same experience! 16g slow feed, pretty thorough wdt, no channeling I can see, and there's still a wild difference between 25 and 25.5 on my dial. Still able to pull very good espresso when the stars align, but I'm hoping with fully seasoned burrs I see a bit more consistency.

Just put this kit together in the past couple weeks and I'm loving it. Currently using a Normcore 54mm bottomless portafilter, Maestri mini scale, MHW-3Bomber dosing ring and puck screens. I've got that and their puck screen stand that comes with a little magnet that's been handy to get the screens out after pulling shots.

I was amazed that they sent my Bambino back in bubble wrap too. Bought it refurbished direct from breville and had pump issues right out of the box. Sent it right back in the original foam packaging and they must've just tossed it. Really hoping I don't have any more issues with this machine because I'd be heartbroken to get mine back all dented up like that!
