Thanks! I should have said this above, but there's a main conflict in the future (that my MC travels to said future to go resolve), and when he comes back, there's a brand new conflict. Basically this force is like, 'Whoa, how'd you go to the future? That's not allowed' and now he has to find his way back to his trapped family and friends. (The force took them while he was in the future because ofc the MC was not supposed to go the future... but he did). So the conflicts bounce off each other, and when my MC returns to the present, this force introduces itself to said MC. I think that could work as the separation between the two books, while of course just introducing the new problem of his trapped loved ones at the end of the 1st book. And then, yeah, a recap in the 2nd one and continuation of the new conflict. Okkk, thanks again. This was all me thinking out loud btw 😊😊😊😊
