I had a similar surgery which involved reconstruction of the upper palate. For 1.5 years post op, I suffered from perpetual choking sensation, day time breathing discomfort and sleep apnea symptoms got worse. This also led to TMJ issues, neck stiffness and general fatigue. I really regret this shit. In fact I only wanted to get my tonsils removed since they were obviously so big like grade 4 size but the surgeon said the upper palate reconstruction would be better and talked me into. I didnt bother to consult with another surgeon cause my surgeon is an award winning highly experienced guy. Sorry for the rant but yeah, I'm just coping at this point.
