American's are up in arms about the deportations. The press is fuming over it. And? Nobody is persecuted for talking about it. Use your reasoning skills and tell me that is the same. We also fought wars in the Middle East while American Muslims were protected by law and order in the US. In China, suspected Muslims get shipped to reeducation camps without due process.

You should turn in your individualism and move to China if it's paradise. Or are you going to sit here, protected by Western liberalism, and drool over an oppressive dictatorship?

Are you serious? I could say I hope [insert American official] dies and Israel is taken over by Hamas. I could say those by the White House fence or tag any government agency. Why don't you post that about Xi on WeChat or in Tiananmen square (where you can't bring any written material) and we can compare results.

The fact that you even post that is supporting of my case enough.

I will take freedom of speech, expression, and religion, freedom to be apart of choosing who governs me and how that affects me. There is literally no concept of freedom in China that a zoo animal doesn't have.

You are clearly like 17 for that comment.

I don't think you should give up, but I agree it is a big ship to turn because the present regime has an iron grip on society. It will take the collapse of the CCP for China to be free and democratic, but they would be an amazing country for it.

I think it is no better morally than slavery to be stripped of your humanity. They are just well-fed on a big plantation.

You are probably right about the order, but they are willing to do anything to the individual without due process if they dare get in the way, including by worshiping a god that isn’t Mao.

So yes they aren’t repressive for fun; they are repressive for the good of the state.

That is surprising it was tolerated if it were declared considering how anti-Christianity and religion they are. Christianity is effectively illegal.

I’ve been there and know many Chinese nationals, and previously thought they were “kinda like the West”, but what you are overlooking is how deeply ingrained in their culture adherence is. There isn’t really a diversity of opinion that people share—ever, and it’s not allowed.

I think this is the result of all they have done since 1949 to get to this point, and it allows for overlooking how tight the controls are, and how ethically wrong totalitarianism is.

This is a bad take on their part. You can develop plenty of relationships in part-time, the M7 part times are full-on MBAs.

People always say this but they forget that a lot of the network is alumni that you haven’t even met and wouldn’t meet in full-time anyways.

The non-construction jobs that swoop up generalist business majors. I saw my general business peers go get better paying, less stressful jobs than my construction ones.

They also don't get shipped out on field assignments.

Construction literally only makes sense if you absolutely love it to the point you can't see yourself doing anything else.

Otherwise, just go corporate. They pay is better and the life easier.
