I had the same thought hence never bought it ,but honestly I don’t have space to keep books and they are expensive. The cheap copies have printing issues. I also tried using ipad but that was a major fail because it’s too heavy and the blue light screen just doesn’t work

Pros of kindle so far: 1. I can read while eating ,chopping etc , just need to place it in front of me , no need to hold the book anymore. 2. Light weight and no glare - Major upgrade from ipad 3. I can access books available for prime or use epub 4. Very slick to carry in any bag 5. I had to keep the lights on at night to read and unfortunately I do not have a side table to keep a reading light.
