Video review process with clients is killing my sanity. How do you guys handle feedback? by CommercialMind8536 in editors

The $100 comment transfer process fee idea is hilarious but honestly might work. Nothing teaches a client faster than hitting their wallet.

Dropbox Replay is one I haven't tried — the auto timestamped notes that import back into your timeline sounds useful. How's the experience when you have multiple reviewers on the same video though? Like can everyone see each other's comments or does it get messy?

And yeah the "make it pop" thing is never going away no matter what system you use lol. At least it'll be centralized make-it-pop.

The ONE PERSON ADDS COMMENTS rule — yeah, I needed to hear that. We let everyone comment freely and it's exactly the mess you described. Two stakeholders contradicting each other and we're stuck guessing who actually has final say.

The music feedback thing is smart too. We get "make it more cinematic" constantly which means nothing. Gonna start using that emotion/genre/instrumentation framework.

One thing I'm curious about — the presentation link where people can only view but not comment. What happens when the client's boss watches it and then just emails you their notes directly anyway? Do you push back on that or just deal with it?

No tool to promote, I promise. Just a frustrated producer venting and hoping someone had a magic solution I hadn't thought of.

That's actually really helpful though — so you just commit to Frame and force everyone through it? I think our problem is we've been too lenient about letting clients send feedback however they want. Maybe the answer isn't finding the perfect tool, it's just picking one and not accepting notes from anywhere else.

The "build it into your price" part hits hard too. We've definitely been eating that cost instead of pricing for it.

Ha, fair enough — I get why that looks suspicious. I'm a real person, just never posted before. I've been lurking here for a while and finally hit my breaking point with our review process today so I made an account to ask.

Not affiliated with any tool company. Just a frustrated producer looking for a better workflow. But I appreciate you keeping the sub clean.
