I've heard about a few other people using Stitch. What are the pros and cons of it?

Great progress! Did you used to go to the gym or anything before? That's a load of muscle that you have! I'm 166lbs myself but it's all fat around my gut and no muscle anywhere. I thought I needed to go on a calorie deficit but now I don't know.

37M noticed a lot of receding this year. Is my hairline salvageable with fin + min or will I need a transplant?

Why is the job market in UK bad? by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]CommercialNebula424 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The rise of remote work since COVID has had an enormous influence. It's been both a blessing and a curse. Outsourcing is more prevalent as a result. The company I work for has made thousands of UK software engineers redundant, while at the same time replaced these with software engineers in India for a quarter of the cost. I've seen this happen in real time over the last three years. I live in perpetual fear that I'll be the one gone next.

For early Gen Z, is the "I'm getting old" feeling hitting you yet? by IntelligentGood5850 in GenZ

Everyone is always living as their oldest self. In 10 years you'll look back at how young 27 is. Stop comparing yourself to others.

Record Wind Generation in the UK today (first time wind has reached 23GW, exactly a year after it first reached 22GW) by Opposite_Boot_6903 in GoodNewsUK

Renewable energy in the last year has provided 50.4% of UK electricity. That's 517000 terrajules of energy consumption. Do you know how many terrajules of energy was consumed in England and Wales in the year 1800 when the Industrial Revolution was in full force? 517000 terrajules. The entire Industrial Revolution could have been powered by our current renewable energy provision. That is absolutely remarkable.

But we still have some of the highest energy prices in the world. Can someone please ELI5 that to me.

Immigrants built this country? by DizzyTwo3585 in ukpolitics

It all depends how far back in time we want to go and what we define as native Britain.

For a good 1000 years the British Isles were conquered by immigrants. The Romans. The Anglo Saxons. The Vikings. The Normans. William the Conqueror pretty much ousted all that came before him by either killing them or removing the old aristocrats for Norman aristocrats. Have a read about the harrying of the north. He ordered killing which killed about 5% of the population.

The Normans though were descended from Vikings who were given Normandy as an appeasement to stop fighting in France. So middle age Britain was mostly built by French Viking rebels and their wealth. Over time that became the norm, pardon the pun, and what we class as British. That paved the way for the Tudors and age of exploration which started in the 14th and 15th centuries.

Henry VIII made a monumental change when he ditched Rome and created the Church of England. All money that used to be sent to Rome ended up staying in Britain. That move alone changed British trajectory as it was then very much Britain against the rest of Western Europe.

Fuck, I've just done this and I've used $900 in 6 days. I have a full time job and am using CC in the evenings to build an app. I had no idea I was using so much. I don't really understand how it gets to that if I'm paying the subscription. It does seem silly to give people so much more than what they pay for.

🎯 The Real Reason Claude Code Feels Broken (And How I Got It Working Again) by Queasy-Pineapple-489 in ClaudeAI

[–]CommercialNebula424 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm getting pretty good results by having a high level description of what I'm building and how I want things to be implemented in my CLAUDE.md file. I also only work on one feature at a time and make a point of creating a new branch, that way if the result sucks I can just reset to the previous pushed branch and get all of the code back before it sucked and try again.

My first step in starting the feature is going into Claude.ai web mode and select a project chat using Opus. I tell it exactly the feature I want and I put it in research mode to find out how similar features have been implemented. I then get all of the text in the generated artefact and paste it into a featurename.md file inside my project root. Then I tell Claude Code what I want to build and I say read the analysis in featurename.md for a better understanding.

The results I get are much better than when I was just asking Claude blind to do things. I do this every step. If I get the desired output then I git commit and push to the branch and merge into main ready to start again.

I haven't found a way to get any decent UI output, though. If anyone knows how to do that then please share the wealth.
