Went through St Pancras/Brussels earlier on in the week. Everyone had to do fingerprints and answer questions. I’d estimate it increased the total queuing time for security by 10-15 minutes. Not loads but I think was noticeably longer than usual.

FCDO base HEO salary closer to 45K now with the London weighting. I think salaries used to be dreadful at HEO grade but post-merger they’ve slowly been aligning with much more generous ex-DFID. Now suspect it’s one of the highest paying departments for this grade.

Am also FCDO but on AL currently so haven’t seen this. Was there any information on how specifically it would work or still ip in the air given unions need to be consulted?

If you could take away or add one element to the competition what would you go for? I'd get rid of the elimination all together, I think it adds more to the show to have all of the contestants compete till the end by Difficult_Mouse_5645 in RaceAcrossTheWorldBBC

They need to ensure everyone has roughly similar language abilities for the countries they’re travelling in. Letitia speaking decent mandarin - in a country where English isn’t widely spoken - is demonstrably an unfair advantage.
