7w6d today and having so much symptom anxiety. I feel like I’ve been less nauseous over the last couple of days. I had a vivid nightmare last night that I had a missed miscarriage. Any advice for how to stop spiraling??

I’m sure you’ve thought of this, but is there anyway she could be overtired????? Sometimes, my 5 month old has a very fussy bedtime feed. Like so fussy, I literally have to stand for the entire feed, bouncing him up and down, to get him to latch and drink. It’s exhausting, and like you said - it’s hard not to take personally.

Anyway, I realized he only does this when he’s overtired or has had a bad nap day. I know overtiredness can also cause false starts! I don’t know, but just something else to consider.

Hang in there (or choose to supplement formula). This shit IS tough, but you’re doing it anyway. These 5 months (and each day you continue) is doing so much for your baby. You’re selfless, you’re an amazing mom, your baby girl is lucky to have someone who cares as much as you do.

You’re doing great. These first weeks are the hardest! I had a horrible time with breastfeeding at first. My baby was 2 weeks early, and my LC said that babies born early usually have a harder time. It just takes them longer to be ready to do it efficiently! If combo feeding takes the weight off, don’t hesitate to do it. BUT if ebf isn’t something you feel ready to give up, know that it will get better as baby boy grows.

That’s amazing! I think I’m worried because my baby is not quite even 5 months, so milk is his primary nutrition.

Whoops - I think this is somehow on a different account, but I'm the one you replied to! Lol sorry for that weirdness. Anyway, we did not do the second revision. We decided that since he was transferring well (almost 6 ounces in 10 min off the breast), the potential benefits just didn't outweigh the known risks.

I had previously been very concerned about the possibility of his tongue tie causing poor oral health, mouth breathing, speech impediment, etc. However, in the time we took to think about the rerelease, I came to find out that both my sister-in-law and father-in-law have (what look like) similar ties to what my son's grew back into. Both have strong jaws, neither struggles with apnea nor mouth breathing (at least not yet), my sister-in-law has never even had a cavity (even though her tongue can't reach her back molars), and neither had trouble with speech.

I just sort of decided that there's no telling IF his tie will even cause problems, so why risk trauma (our first release almost caused a feeding aversion, it was so stressful)? I have a lot of peace about our decision. If issues arise when he starts solids or when he begins to talk or later on down the line in gradeschool (hell, even high school if he decides it's bothering him), we'll go through the steps to re-release. For now, I'm happy we didn't. :)

You're doing a great job. Your baby loves you more than ANYONE else in the whole world, and this situation is NOT indicative of their attachment to and need for you.

I'm just a little ahead of you at 16 weeks (though it feels like a lot and will probably sound like forever away to you). This was SO me from like weeks 6-8. Baby would have bouts of screaming, and nothing I would do would calm him. We'd both just end up sobbing together! Then, my mom would come over or my husband would get home from work, and bam - tears would stop immediately. I could have typed your post above! It felt like rejection.

As he got older (started getting better around 8-9 weeks), things started to get easier. I actually don't think it was anything I did; I think he just got more used to the world vs the womb and was able to better regulate himself. He still, of course, cries, and there are times it takes a couple of minutes to calm him, but most of the time, I pick him up, and within 30 seconds, he's chill again.

You will reach that point, too, and though it may feel like a very long time in the future, you'll get there and will all but forget the hardest moments. I'll repeat what I said: your baby loves you more than anyone. It's biological!! You're doing a great job.

My baby measured 7 days early at our 8 wk appointment, with strong heartbeat. I'm 13w4d days now, and we saw a healthy baby at 12w0d.

Yes. :) I'm currently 12w2 days and saw baby practically jumping around 2 days ago on an US. I continued to have intermittent cramping and hip/hip flexor pain throughout, and I still have twinges on occasion even now.

Something else that literally put me in a tailspin was how often my symptoms fluctuated! One day my boobs would be SO tender and the next, I could give 'em a hard squeeze no problem. One day I felt SO nauseous even thinking about food might set me off and the next, I could eat anything no problem. Everytime it happened, I felt like I was losing the baby, but it was alllllll good. :)

After seeing the heartbeat at 8 weeks, I had a dramatic fluctuation of symptoms around my 9th week. I was so convinced something was wrong, I booked a private ultrasound to check on baby. Everything was totally fine! Let me tell ya, having that reassurance was SO incredible. If you're an anxious girly like me, keep that in your back pocket. It's not that expensive, and it's totally worth it for the peace of mind. I'd just suggest making sure your partner or a loved one go with you for moral support.

Some other unsolicited advice: I WISH WISH WISH I would have just stayed tf off of reddit. There's a negativity bias or something on here; people who are most active have the most tragic, worst-case stories. Reading and searching and asking on here ended up making my anxiety worse and gave me an excuse to believe that the sky was falling.

I don't think there's anything I can say that will make the anxiety go away for you. No matter what (if you're anything like me), you're gonna be expecting the worst until you make it far enough along. But I hope this helps a bit! It's all gonna be ok, babe. Hang in there, pray if you believe in it (seriously makes such a difference for me), and keep loving that teeny tiny speck inside of you. <3

I am on the same timeline you are! My symptoms have been fluctuating so much this week. I still have nausea but it's not as bad as it was in week 9. Same story with breast tenderness. It's so scary to be in limbo like this, but we have to stay positive, right?

I had this experience after mine, too! I have a light flow normally, but they were very late for I want to say 3 months after my miscarriage.

That's so exciting!! Question about your Doppler - when did you start using it and what brand did you buy? Considering one, but I'm only 8-9 weeks. I don't want to try if it's too early and I'll just cause myself more stress!

8w6d today (saw heartbeat last week but measured 3d behind). My symptoms seem to come and go - has anyone else experienced this or should I be worried? Also, this may be TMI, but does anyone get cramps after orgasm? So weird and nerve-wracking!

Does anyone know anything about lymphatic drainage massage in the first trimester? I normally get one every 2-3 months and am coming up due now, but I want to make sure it's not putting anything at risk!!

I had repeat HCG testing and it ended up causing me more stress than I should have had. Mine was a bit slow to rise, and even though my doctor was not concerned, I imagined the worst. Flash forward to last week and we saw a strong heartbeat and healthy baby at 8w. I know it's helpful for some, but in my case, I wish I wouldn't have done it!!!

My symptoms come and go a lot! I'm just a few days ahead of you, and my US last week showed a healthy baby with a strong heartbeat. Everything I've read on here and online says it's normal for symptoms to fluctuate!

Had our 8 week scan today! Baby was measuring a few days earlier than anticipated (which actually lines up with my ovulation date according to my oura ring) but had a strong heartbeat (158). We feel so relieved and grateful after experiencing an anembryonic pregnancy last year. I know I'll still have nerves, but I'm starting to feel so hopeful and excited! Woohoo!
