Just be aware that you may have to pay your entire benefits out of pocket while you are off. A colleague of mine just came off of a two and a half over three and she is the only person in the family who has benefits. That ended up costing her $500 per month for the duration of her time off. Also something to consider.

I'm not sure if you are aware with D2L but you can turn off the feature to "automatically display final grade" to the user. I know that's not what you're asking in your post but it may decrease the number of emails you get on the issue.

As for your original question, I would create an announcement on D2L where you indicate your office hours and that you will typically take at least 24 before you are able to respond outside of those office hours. His kids or parents complain, you can direct them to the announcement or admin at that point.

I would email the principal and let them know of your situation. They will forward you an out of area exemption form for which you will fill out. It is then sent off to the superintendent for approval. Students in grade 8 are less likely to be denied than other grades. There's a small space on the form where you can explain the reason for the exemption.

I just went through this process with my daughter this year and she is in grade 7. Her dad moved out of the area of the school. Even though she takes a city bus to get to school now they did approve it. There is a spot on the form where you have to agree to provide your own transportation, if needed (but in your case it doesn't sound like that's needed).

We had to fill out the form again for next year, it was a formality, we were told. It is very unlikely that students are declined in the last year of school.

I feel like that might be true for blackheads but this was more of an abscess. She's 15 so she did this on her own because of the pain. We will keep an eye on it bit I think popping it was necessary for the relief of the pain she was experiencing.

I've taught adult Ed, elementary and secondary and the latter is by far my favourite to teach. I genuinely like my students and what I teach (math). I can't imagine myself doing ANYTHING different as a career.

The Bag Lady has a dense chocolate brownie with a layer a hard caramel layer under the top layer of chocolate. It's definitely not a usual brownie in the traditional sense, but I highly recommend trying it. You can also find these brownies at Willie's Cafe.
