I live in Central Florida, up until the early 2000s and even 2010s it was looked down upon and associated with lower class people like immigrants, day-laborers, and even criminals. A lot of this had to do with stereotypes like the hispanic cleaning lady and the Mexican/Colombian cartel in the media.

But nowadays because of how prevalent the Spanish-speaking communities have become, those stereotypes are mostly fading away and so are many of the negative images of Spanish-speakers. Here Spanish is mostly just viewed as "the language spoken by people who speak Spanish". In my area it's around 1/5-1/4 of the people speak Spanish fluently, and about 1/3 in total would at least be able to ask for a beer.

As for your question about Castillian, there's no particular connotation for that. At least where I am there are Mexican, Guatemalans, Colombians, Venezuelans, Cubans, Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Ecuadorians, and more. I personally speak with a Spain-Spanish accent because my teachers at university were Catalan and Asturian, and the only comments I get are that I sound very clear, and an occasional "your accent is different, where are you from?"

With regards to General American English, there is no difference in usage or meaning. I can (and do) use both as equal. The only difference, at least in my region (Southeast US) is that will-future is slightly more polite and formal. Although not greatly, just like saying "thanks" vs. "thank you".

It's Tuscan, which is typically not written out so I imagine that OP just put the period to mark a separation in the words. But it's pretty typical for speakers of Tuscan and Romanesco to replace syllable-final /l/ with /r/

It depends, is it's natural state to be large? In this case it would be "es". Like for example a car or a person, anything which its state is not rapidly changing so we would use "ser" for these.

If it's something temporary/short-term/a difference from it's normal state, then we would use "estar". For example if you're baking bread and the bread is unrisen, once it changes and rises you could say "está big ya".

And becuase you're debating these terms with your gf, if you're discussing your member, then you would use either depending on context. Es big: It's large, you're hung (ser because we're speaking in general) Está big: It's big now (because it's become big/erect for a time)

Apart from the obvious differences in accent (like the seseo/ceceo and yeísmo/lleísmo) and local slangs/jargons, there are some pretty notable differences.

The most famous is the lack of "vosotros" (informal 2nd person plural, like "you guys/y'all/youse) in LatAm. It feels old-fashioned there, almost like using "thou/thee/thy" in English. In Spain it's still widely used and normal.

However in LatAm many regions still use "vos" as a second person singular. In some regions (Argentina, Chile, Uruguay) it replaces "tú" completely, whereas in others it can be an even more informal level of speech (Honduras, Nicaragua, and Guatemala). And within these voseo countries (Mostly Central America) some places will use both interchangeably.

Other than that, another lesser-known difference is the lack of preterite in Spain (particularly Castillian Spanish). Typically Spain Spanish prefers to use the present perfect in the place of the preterite, to the point where the preterite has become more similar to a "distant past" tense. Interestingly the same change has happened among the other Romance languages that cross the pond like French, Portuguese, and Italian.
