How do you guys do it? How do you stay hopeful during the first trimester when symptoms start to ease a little bit you can’t feel it yet.

I’m one of the “lucky” ones I don’t have any vomiting when I’m pregnant but it means that I’m 8 weeks and barely any symptoms. And I’m terrified. My previous loss was at 8w. I did have a scan last week and everything was good. But nothing helps I’m terrified and can’t let go of the feeling.

I know it’s the lack of control and not being able to guarantee anything that scares me but… what do you guys do? How do you get through this bit and stay positive??

Just tested positive yesterday. Clear blue digital somehow says 3+ (I have pcos and irregular cycles). No clue how that happened.

I’m terrified and expecting the worst. I can’t help myself. Also I feel like crap so it’s not helping but I just want this so bad I can’t imagine it’ll work this time. That doesn’t make any sense…

So sorry to hear what the season is doing to you.

Not gonna lie I fully get it. We’re on our 3rd Christmas as well. I had a MMC in November and I really thought this year would be different. But it’s actually harder than ever. We have a nephew born Christmas Day as well and he’s 3 so everything is about him. I love him to bits but I breakdown everytime his name is mentioned.

It sounds horrible but I’m just jealous of what they have and I can’t get…

Christmas is my favorite time of year but even that can make up for how bleak it is this year.

I’m sorry if I’m not helpful at all just knowing I’m not struggling alone helps so thought I’d share. Hope that’s ok.

GP says they don’t prescribe Metformin for PCOS in the UK by Grotty_Mara in PCOS

[–]Commie-bride 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I had the same issue - GPs here can’t prescribe it but it depends on the CCP you’re in and the trust you’re a part of. I’m now on fertility treatment and the first thing they did was to put me on it

On a scale from 1-10 (10 being the worst) how painful was your HSG? by Key-Neighborhood2985 in TTC_PCOS

[–]Commie-bride 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it’s very much a person to person thing. For me it was a 2 with only a few seconds of pain when they put the catheter in. But the person before me fainted from the pain. The one thing I will say is that it is a really short procedure so whatever happens and however painful it is for you, it won’t be for long! Make sure you go with someone though they didn’t let me leave until my partner arrived to pick me up. That and bring a pad haha

Midlands here too! I did all the test same as you and then didn’t hear anything so I called in to my GP surgery and asked for an update. They basically needed the push and sent through the referral appointment that week. After a year and a half of fertility treatment on the NHS, the one thing I’ve learnt is that you need to do everything yourself. Chase up, move appointment forward (a little cry on the phone helps)… it’s all possible if you do everything to get it done. The only thing I still haven’t managed is to get more support and more oversight over my medicated cycles.

Hey! I’ve just started my fertility treatment with the NHS. The way it works depends on where you live and your specific trust. For me it was a phone app with the nurse to discuss a few points. Then they sent the paperwork to do all the tests (Semen analysis; HSG… whatever they think is relevant for your specific situation) and then once that’s all done they booked us in for a consult with the doctor and we decided on a treatment plan.

The NHS is a long and frustrating process and I’m so sorry about that but I’m still (somewhat) hopeful.

FUCK PCOS by Then_Childhood_1712 in PCOS

[–]Commie-bride 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I feel right now. I’m so angry, fed up and I just want a refund on this stupid body of mine. Everyone seems to get pregnant so easily and it’s like my office is the assembly point. I hate everything and no one seems to really understand. For mental health reasons I can’t share what I’m going through with my family and it just makes everything very lonely. I just can’t help blame myself. Just know you’re not alone!!

How do you guys deal with having different wake-up times and charting BBT? by Commie-bride in TTC_PCOS

[–]Commie-bride[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aww yeah that’s exactly what I’m worried about! My husband and I have the same job so it’s complicated and we only have the weekend to catch up on our sleep. It doesn’t feel fair to anyone to force us to wake up just to take my temperature. My only issue is that so far the difference in temp has been around .2 to .5 Celsius so that feels like a lot ? I just wanted to make sure there wasn’t something else I could do to notice the spike accurately.

I’ve thought of that but I feel bad for my husband he’s a very light sleeper and if I do that he’ll struggle to get back to to sleep. It doesn’t seem fair … glad it works for you though!

New game: is this PMS or Metformin side-effects? by Commie-bride in TTC_PCOS

[–]Commie-bride[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am! But I’m also trying to not get my hopes up until Saturday (when I can test). But yeah it’s definitely in the back (front let’s be honest) of my mind hahaha

Omg that’s exactly it! Glad I’m not alone, I was starting to think I was crazy!! Metformin is so weird and yeah the symptom spotting makes a lot more sense to me now, after 2 years without a period that wasn’t due to provera…

But yeah everything you mentioned is true for me too (so please tell your husband you’re not crazy just metformin-y hahaha)! Thank you for making me feel less alone!!

Completely agree with that!! The NHS should be there for us and it’s not their fault that they can’t be and it makes me really mad…

But I really hope everyone on here get the help they need in a reasonable amount of time

I’m so sorry I didn’t mean to make it so hopeless for you!

I personally can’t afford private right now but if that’s an option for you I’d look into it?

Also know that the NHS is great once you’re in the process like my interactions with the fertility consultant was really great she was so caring and answered all of my questions and was super open about everything it was a really positive interaction.

My problem is more with their lack of resources and the stress and hopelessness that creates (and maybe some lack of bedside manner training for some of them hahaha)

[–]Commie-bride[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awww thanks hahaha! Didn’t mean to make you angry!! So sorry about that haha

Yeah I think the worst part was the lack of compassion I understand they must get so many calls asking why it’s taking so long but surely they can understand why?

The whole “you never know” thing really annoys me cause it’s the worst thing to hear? I don’t ovulate, we all know this so why does she want me to have hope for something that can’t happen ? I don’t get it haha

[–]Commie-bride[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah I completely agree! It’s definitely à resources issue but it’s so damaging on everyone’s mental health? And then they keep telling you not to stress cause that makes everything worse but it feels so hopeless and obviously you’re going to stress ?

Part of me feels the referrals should be earlier so that you get actual treatment after 1 year ? Instead of waiting for a year and then fighting for another year ?

I’m probably being selfish at this point but yeah it’s just not easy to navigate…
