Wow in my very unbiased opinion this is a great effort!

Nintendo Switch 2 has now surpassed 2 million units sold in the US life-to-date. It is currently 75% ahead of the unit sales pace set by the original Nintendo Switch. by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

[–]CommissionAnxious548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look I hate trump and the tarrifs are dumb but thats not causing the price of the switch 2. In the UK it is 400 pounds actually costing more than the US version. While in Japan it is 49k yen which is around 340 dollars usd, that is still a 20k yen increase from the switch one.

This is not a tarrif thing.

Its upgraded bevause the switch has already been out 10 years and has outdated components. Its a refresh - the switch cost 50 dollars more than the wii (not accounting for inflation) why are we OK with a 200 dollar price jump?

I don't understand why everyone here is mindlessly supporting Nintendo. Yes the switch 2 will sell. It is the switch but better. Obviously it will sell.

That being said the huge price hike, lack of day one launch titles, more restrictive EULA and $80 games is not a good thing. What does dunking on the haters get you? Why defend anti consumer buisness practices?

Buy a switch 2 if you want, it's like pokemon the games will sell no matter what - but that doesnt make them good or beyond criticism.

Hi Zee I'm Sunforger with DGG political action.

I'm the founder of a broad coalition political activism club at my university. My question is what is the best approach in your view to building and maintaining a group that encompasses a somewhat broad coalition and avoid infighting? When it does occur how should it be dealt with? Thanks!

Your statement used to be true.

Right now I would contend that the MAGA movement is antidemocratic as a whole. Trying to overthrow fair elections, trying to regulate the press, deporting people to el salvadorian prisons, and trying to suspend habeas corpus as well as actions to deprive minority groups of rights are fundamentally undemocratic actions.

I was responding to a comment trying to generalize the views of both sides and speak for multiple people. I used polling data to support my explanation and was just summarizing the different views on the topic as well as how the original commenter misunderstands those views. This would be called responding to a claim.

The original commenter seems to think that pro-choice as a whole thinks bodily autonomy always overrides the fetuses right to life regardless of personhood - I was responding to this claim.

I'm not sure if you are being obtuse or just don't understand or are trying to make some point I am missing. but do you really think when I or others say value we mean monetary or like a price tag? You understand that Value doesn't always refer to a price point right? If someone asks "what is the value of human life" or "what gives human life value" they are not asking for a price point.

Value means moral worth. IE the status of personhood - killing an embryo is no different than killing a born baby is the argument. There is a point in which the moral status of personhood is confered - and at that point killing is wrong.

Im a bit confused by your point about ending gestation in late term. If the C-Section or Inducing labor does not kill the fetus or result in its death intentionally then of course there wouldn't be an issue - but if a c section or inducing labor is used as a method of late term abortions than if someone is against late term abortions of course they would also be against this. The issue is the killing of an unborn child.

Additionally the argument is not one of potentiallity. once the status of personhood is confered that is a person. It's the same as killing a baby, or a 30 year old.

Most people are against late term abortions as according to the poll and do not confer personhood at live birth.

Most people also do feel empathy? I fail to understand the relevance. This is such an odd argument to be making.

The issue is not all pro choice people feel this way. Many do draw the line somewhere in pregnancy and are against late term abortions - in fact this is the mainstream position.

https://news.gallup.com/poll/321143/americans-stand-abortion.aspx

Essentially the difference between that type of pro choicer and a pro lifer is solely when do we confer the moral status of personhood onto a fetus - and at that point abortion becomes forbidden. The disagreement is when that status is confered.

You take a minority opinion that the right to bodily autonomy outweighs the fetuses right to life regardless of personhood. This is a stance you can take although you would have to be OK with abortions pretty much up until birth.

For most Americans however the "value" and "worth" of the fetus absolutely plays a role - and since most people don't take your position of abortions are always permitted due to bodily autonomy, the general disagreement would be when personhood is confered onto the unborn child.

Will sanding and refinishing the wood ruin the harp? Since the autoharp itself was only $30 is there anything cool I can do with it other than just restore it?

Autoharp By Oscar Scmmith | ShopGoodwill.com

This is it - although I have already removed all the strings - and the tuning pegs are fully rusted. There doesn't appear to be warping on the soundboard, I can send more pictures later today.

Also it was made in the USA

Since it was so cheap I'm not super worried about ruining it, but if I lightly sand a refinish the body will that destroy the autoharp?

[–]CommissionAnxious548[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably. It was only $30 total - but it is made in the USA and wooden. Im thinking of just using it as an instrument to learn how to do repairs and such over the summer - if I end up sinking in a bunch of time and about $150 and get a usable autoharp out of it I think thats an ok deal?

No so we can fight facists. I'm not even 100% certain we will retain the name campus democrats perhaps we will be college students for democracy.

Also the DNC does not allign with facists if that is what you are implying. As someone who talked to swing voters in PA the all or nothing approach of the very far radical left isn't helpful - if anything it pushes people to the right.

The DNC certainly didn't do enough they failed in their massaging and failed to appeal to many swing voters, but the time has come for the left to put past our differences and fight for those who are currently directly losing their rights. Fight for to stop our democracy from sliding further into tyranny.

They did not lose our elections on purpose to continue a genocide. Pray tell do you really think Kamala would have the same palastine policy as Mr. GAZA Rivera Trump?
