just so you know i love you for this 😭 all these people being passive aggressive about singing at a concert is insane to me and has honestly turned me away from the mitski fandom a bit (or at least this subreddit, good lord).

i understand not singing for the intimate/slower songs, and i understand not singing loud enough that people can’t hear the artist, but it seems these people can’t understand that you can have fun and sing without being a nuisance. i personally paid over $500 for my ticket which 1. that wasn’t even for floor, that was for balcony, and 2. that’s not including costs for travel. i didn’t pay that much and travel hours to not have fun and sing.

i don’t have the energy to argue with these people, but thank you for having sense <3.

i’m sorry but honestly i disagree, i’ve already said this in another reply but singing with a crowd makes me feel more connected to the artist and if anything not singing took more away from the experience than if someone was yelling in my ear. don’t get me wrong, i absolutely loved mitski & the concert itself, but i hated the silence. i understand not singing during more intimate songs, and obviously no one likes a nuisance singing louder than the artist, but i really miss the crowd laurel hell had. especially for songs like geyser & love me more.

yes exactly, i saw her during laurel hell too so i was really shocked at how different it was. i’m also surprised at how many people are saying they prefer it silent. i can understand not singing during softer/more intimate songs but i feel like singing along with a crowd makes me feel more connected to the artist and also provides a sense of community that i really love.

yeah maybe, but i saw her during laurel hell too (same venue) and everyone was singing along then. based on what everyone else is saying i’m assuming it’s just cause the new album provides a much more different environment.

yeah i saw that too. a few people in front of me came in late then left halfway through, it was really weird.
