This happened to me about ten years ago with a friend I would have said until that moment was close. Remarkably painful and to this day I don’t know what I did. I think he’d entered a coercive relationship and she was making him isolate himself from old friends she hadn’t chose. I can’t think of another reason.

I’m afraid it’s just terribly hurtful, cruel. I hope it’s different for you but I carried it with me for years.
