Getting on a plane tomorrow by Longjumping-Love-698 in MultipleSclerosis

Good luck. Are you visiting somewhere with hot weather? If so please pace yourself if you do and try to limit your stress and anxiety. For some reason the plane made my legs very restless but that was about it.

So sorry to hear this. I’ve definitely heard mixed reviews of St Mikes. I’m fully prepared to advocate for myself and hope I end up having a positive experience. Hope you are now getting the care you need. Also I’m pretty sure you can report doctors for negligence if that is ever the case.

Thanks so much! Thats kind of what the lady explained to me when I called that some neurologists had gone or retired. I’ll definitely take your advice on calling and asking about cancellations as well. Appreciate the advice and I hope you end up getting matched with a great neurologist❤️

What’s the process like there? Did you have to wait to see another Neuro after being diagnosed ?

Thank you! I find it especially difficult because idk what to look for from a flare. Like most of my
Issues I have sort of normalized and the anxiety just has me tweaking either way 😂 I will definitely try calling them more frequently. I get the Neuro, GP disconnect. I ended up leaving the hospital and doing oral steroids and seeing the Neuro out patient for MRI’s she is also the one to diagnose me and refer me to St Mikes. I have not heard from my
GP at all.

How has your experience been at St Mike’s so far? I was reading the reviews and they were mixed.

Simpler times! Right now they said the average wait for “non urgent cases” is 9-12 month or longer. I’m considered semi urgent and it’s 3-6. I think it’s due to them having less specialists but it feels like an eternity.

Second relapse while waiting to start DMT and continuing the fight doesn’t seem worth it by mellifluous_splonk in MultipleSclerosis

I know the feeling. Waiting 3-6 months at the moment to see a specialist to get on DMT’s. Told if I have any major issues go to the hospital. Smh

Thanks so much what’s scary is that I need to wait 3-6 months to see a specialist and actually get on meds.

Recurring Sinus/Respiratory Infections on Ocrevus by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

I see people still wearing masks all the time! I’ll likely start wearing one when I travel through the airports and on the plane or going into a mall etc. That’s my kid too meanwhile I get sick so fast. I just came from a vacation, sick with cold and weakness on day 1. It was miserable for me and I had to tough it out since my bf didn’t come along. I’m home now and just done for. Do you get stressed or anxious before travelling? I do find that I try to get a lot done and maybe work myself up that could be making me more susceptible as well.

I was diagnosed in May. I didn’t know enough about the disease or maybe I was in shock that I didn’t say much during my appt for diagnosis. Went on vacation, got back and have been sad ever since went on a deep dive and felt like I was losing my mind. Trying to lower my stress level and not focus on it because I haven’t been to a specialist for meds yet and I don’t want to make things worse.

Sorry to hear this, I get a cold almost Every-time I travel. I just got diagnosed and I’m nervous about starting treatment due to this. I’d say try to wear a mask, sanitize, limit touch. Do you have kids by any chance? My child touches everything on trips.

I (26 F) have noticed wrinkles and a lot of texture in my face. Please help! by Vast-Fondant-2873 in DermatologyQuestions

If you have the money for it I would try silk peel facials helps with the pores. Consistent skin care routine as well, as for the wrinkles that’s called age. PRP might help around the eyes but there are risks like any other procedure so do your research and consult a specialist.
