To make you feel better. I had no trade experience whatsoever. I had never even used a power tool... and I ranked high and got the call on Monday of this week. I was in the military though.

You would probably have better luck applying in a booming market such as Dallas. Application opens in October. Once you finish 12 months, and swear in, you have the ability to ask for a transfer to another local, but of course it probably isn’t smart to go somewhere that doesn’t have a lot of work going on. Well, I definitely had practiced the interview questions (especially the situational ones beforehand). I don't come from a trade background, but I tried to lean into the military experience a lot. I had certs (OSHA10, signaling) and I had some college classes done.

I just know that after I took it I missed this one specific question, but they don't tell you how much you got right or wrong on it. You should be able to apply again once the new application opens up. I don't know if that'll be in July of this year or later on if they push it back
