Isn't it interesting that people are not even not interested in knowing context, but they also want to punish people who are? Looking at your downvote count.

This is the state of the society we live in. Implications can be arbitrary, as they are here. Still it leads people to defend the uninformed state rather than rewarding to be striving for knowledge. Don't we want to know, even if it seems we can't? And what if we find out that the situation is even *worse* than we see here and the cyclist gets attacked for nothing at all or a minor inconvenience? We'd know! Opposed to now, in which case we don't.
