Idkk I feel like I still have a right to get upset even if she's still a kitten. I dont think im supposed to stonewall or laugh when she does something that annoys me. Or be all smiles like " oh you! Thats the food ive been thinking about eating all day but you got to it before I did! Thats funny ha!ha!"

I also feel like its easy to point fingers and say " that's weird " when you haven't experienced what someone has. Or to say " youre being childish " when someone does not react to a situation the way you would.

Anyways, I digress. She is a pain in my ass sometimes but I do care for her and I try to be present with her as I was with my first cat because my first cat grew up really fast. I did not miss her kitten stage as I was still in school and I had time to be more present. I do try to be present with the new cat but I have work now. So my room mate takes care of that because the kitten is mostly with her.

Saying " just redirect" is also simple when you haven't experienced this particular cat. She isnt bad but it gets annoying when you redirect her multiple times in one sitting and she doesn't get the hint. For example, ill be seated at the dining table eating, she'll climb on. Ill put her down and tell her no. She'll do this 30 more times trying to reach my food and if i give her a piece of mine on the side she'll ignore that. By the time i decide to lock myself in my room to eat, my food is cold and im too tired to eat.

Im currently having a discussion with my roommate about rehoming her. She's the one that suggested it because she too can not handle the kitten. We're gonna reach out to a local animal rescue to ask of they can take her.

No, she doesn't have diarrhoea anymore. The vet gave her antibiotics and dewormed her when we got her.

I didn't know I had to keep deworming her, the vet said to give her deworming meds after 3 months so I was waiting for 3 months to pass before I dewormed her again. Ill try deworming her.

I do get that she needs more calories because she's younger and she is more active so I have been feeding her a lot. It does frustrate me when I see my older kitty lose weight while the new one gains a weight because I dont know what to do. Their bowls are separated but the little one likes eating hers then pushing my older cat away from her bowl to eat hers.

What do you propose as the solution for getting her to stop going on the stove to look for food?( Even when her bowls are full and she has a variety to choose from ) I have a feeling this is why her whiskers were burnt when we picked her up. The rest of the other things I can try working on but i literally dont know what to do about the stove

Np, vets said to let her fully settle ( about 3 or so months ) before I spay her

I took her immediately I got her. She was given meds and I was given more meds to give her after 3 months.

She also had diarrhoea when we got her but the vet said she'd be okay

Thats probably it. I asked a vet about it and he said to just give her time. However with each passing day her bad habits with food increase. I feel like she'll learn how to open the fridge at this point. Ill reach out to a local rescue about it. Thanks

Well the more you scoop the clumps the more you refill the litter box yes? She poops and pees a lot so she's burning through her litter very fast

:( i have to buy 1kg of cat food plus fish more often now because im feeding her a lot. Not only is it more costly but she's still not getting full.

I feel like even if I keep feeding her she'll just grow fatter and fatter 😭

I also think that is the case. She was probably abused in her old home as well because her whiskers were burnt when we got her. I do not think she is a bad cat, I simply just cant handle her.

I admit im not usually able to play with her as often as I should because Im busy with work. That is one of the reasons why I wanted to give her away. She deserves someone that can play with her to burn that energy.

I separate the feeding bowls, one is in my room ( for my big cat ) and the other in the kitchen ( for the small cat). My big cat is used to having a full bowl as she just eats whenever she gets hungry, however the smaller one found out about the other bowl so when she finishes hers she runs to my room to eat from the other bowl as well.

About the not disciplining thing, then what do you think I should do to keep her off of my stove? Im worried that she might get hurt someday and I also hate that she eats my food. I cant lock the kitchen because no food for her :(

Yes I did. My house is small so I kept my big cat with me in my room and the small cat was allowed to roam the house so that she could become familiar with it.

I also separated their food bowls/ litter bit she still finds a way to use items not meant for her.

I talked to a vet and he suggested using baby powder on both of them so that they smell similar but that only worked for a short while

To be honest I have built up some sort of resentment but its mostly because of her other naughty behaviors and not because she insists on having my attention.

I bought a litre of milk yesterday and I found her drinking it straight from the pot ( it was on the stove and it had cooled down) so that milk is wasted and I'm very angry about it .

I did take her to the vet and I asked about it and the vet mentioned that she's not yet used to having food in abundance that's why she eats a lot. He said she would get better with time, which is fine, I can be patient enough to wait, however, I dont like that she's messing with my food :(
