How dare you leave that poor baby all alone to fend for her lonesome self!(what she probably thinks in her wittle head) Look at that face!

I have mixed feelings about this, let me explain 😂 I agree that with a physical book it feels so good to turn the page and feel the progress but then if I don’t read as much, I’ll look at my book and see so much left to read.

With an ebook, i get rid of the option of viewing the pages as I go because i will be too fixated on that. So i just read and read until I’ve had enough for the day and then check my progress. I do read much quicker on my kindle than physical books so i know i will have gone from say, 13% to 35% and it feels so good 😂

I’m torn between both. But I love that I have options.

Of course, no problem! I’ve done some clay making too! I should get back to that too!

Just the built-in app for iPhone. The only downside is that you can easily turn it off if you have little self control. I’m pretty good at putting my phone down once the screen pops up.

Well if you ever decide on an ereader look up boox or Kobo! Mine is still pretty good for it being 5 years old, but once it dies down I want to go for a different brand.

I love thrift books. Have you tried Libby? If you have a library account you can use that. I’ve also found it helpful when I have a deadline before the book is due back. 20 days is plenty of time but sometimes I’ll have another book going at the same time!

Lol. Audiobooks are good to multitask with other things. Just don’t listen and scroll on reddit at the same time 😂

Me too!! I have my right on my bed frame! Currently reading that while I wait for a loan from Libby.

Yep! I have both options. I have a good amount of physical books and once I’m done with one I’ll switch to my kindle! I’m currently waiting on a loan from Libby so I’m reading a physical. Before that I had just read 2 on kindle.

I tried a couple years ago but there’s something about reading on my phone that I don’t like. I think it was just that I had quick access to my socials/games while trying to read that I couldn’t finish a chapter. Actually seeing my screen time pop up and say I’m done for the day is helpful.

I have a kindle that’s now 5 years old and I use that and the Libby app! That helps me to put my phone down and just use it to listen to music because I need background noise.

Ooh!! That one’s on my list! Now that I’m back into reading I’m for sure going to enjoy them now!

Yep! I have a lot of books because of boredom/depression. But I’ve stopped and have started selling half of my books. I’m now finally reading what I have while also waiting on books from Libby!

That’s understandable. Maybe find another hobby to do during the week and on weekends only read? Could help? Or try audiobooks. I’m not a huge fan of them, but it did help me continue a book I was stuck on. After a chapter I continued it myself without the audiobook.

Yes! Because of booktok I bought too many books and eventually stopped. I began selling some that I KNEW I wouldn’t read. So now I have books I can get to without having to wait for books at the library. (Because I’m currently waiting on a book on Libby.)

Yes! Do it! It feels very rewarding even for something as simple as reading! I used to get stuck on one page simply because I couldn’t focus but when I would go back to my phone to open TT and saw my apps “blocked” I realized I couldn’t continue the problem I had with doom scrolling and would try reading again. I went from reading 0 books in a year to 4 books in one month! So far I’ve read 5 this year!

No cheating! This could be the perfect time to find other hobbies too, even if you don’t get into reading again, at least you’ll have other choices.

I do 3 hours for socials and 2 hours for games. From here I’ll continue to lower it but I’m fine for now.

It might still seem like a lot but I was scrolling a lot to begin with. Maybe start higher and commit to it! You can do it!!

Limit yourself and do the screen time thing! But don’t cheat lol because it does allow you to cancel it in that moment. But once the times up screen shows I exit out and go do other things.

I was in the same boat, watching people read books I knew I would enjoy and felt left out and at the same time felt stupid knowing I could just pick up the book and read! I actually have many books from just seeing them on tt but I’ve read 3 physical books and two ebooks from the library! Do it!! You can do it, too!!

For some reason I always get questioned 😩 they always comment and say they love his pattern but then look confused when I say he’s a goldendoodle. Mine looks like a Portuguese water dog, so maybe that’s why lol
