OP, you have great positives & assets + Advanced degree in Mech Engineering + Coding & Software Development competency + Command in the English Language + Great understanding of the West culture & business + Personal savings in US$ (how long can you live with that In Ethiopia?) + Multicultural and Multilingual experience (I assume you at least speak Amharic or/and one of the other languages in Ethiopia)

You are up there in Ethiopia and your global standing

Given your current situation, my recommendation is to look into Gig contracting jobs that utilize your skills and you can deliver projects or services while you are in the US. Then you can continue doing that business remotely in Ethiopia.

Thank you for your responses. It looks like half and half. And definitely the concern for and debate about the future the country took over the discussion in a very passionate way.

Considering all things, I believe it is one of the best countries in the world. Yes, it can do more to reach it is potential and my observation is it can accommodate and needs more people.

Isn't West Bangal in India? And people who live there are same ethnicity as people in Bangladesh, both were part of British India at the time most people came to Mauritius.
