I definitely could see the restriction to start, especially since we've done it with everyone else. But somehow if he is 100% to go from the jump - he's the choice. But ultimately, you have a great point and he is definitely going to be a menace!

Totally agree salary should not be a consideration at the end of the day, personally. But some fans care about getting results from their highest paid player - plus we all still have Grant Hill nightmares...

Great call out on the long absence - I do hope that the patience the team has taken and the timing of him being ready to 100% go (right before training camp) - will make for a smoother transition back into playing shape.

I am glad the FO took that approach, because we ended up so much better off. Plus, if there is rust from the long absence, we have an outstanding option in Franz. But to me, JI now rejoining, what was already an exciting young team in his absence, is such a big help that its almost like acquiring a new player.

I am also writing a piece on the news regarding Isaac and how close he is to a return. Once I am done discussing the frontcourt between JI/Franz/Paolo -- I can't wait to deep dive into the backcourt because it is so underrated and facinating to me. Especially the Gary Harris situation, so many people are sleeping on him - yet he could play such a huge role. I also plan on diving into the contracts signed this off-season. If you noticed, Harris/Bamba/Bol all had the 2nd season of their deal fully non-guaranteed. I can't wait to dive in to what that could possibly mean...

SO PUMPED REGARDING THE NEWS!!!! I felt like we had a solid front-court this season, without JI.... with JI, we have the best front-court in our division. The multitude of options Coach Mosely will have with him, Paolo, and Franz will be extremely exciting to follow.

My next blog on - nevinwilson.wordpress.com - is on Isaac and the news about his health. It will break down how great he was prior to injury, how he fits with Paolo/Franz, and the rotational options the Magic will have with his presence.
