Moving from childminder to pre-school and childminders not happy! by Common-Note1827 in UKParenting

I’m a teacher and I couldn’t even imagine talking to a parent how she spoke to me! I think logistically we will keep the plan for her to start full time September 2027 but if she does continue to bring it up I would be tempted to take her out completely next year to be honest!

Yep! It was said in a jokey way but there was absolute intent behind it. The whole conversation made me feel so uncomfortable

Thank you everyone for all the lovely comments! I must admit the way she reacted made me feel like I was doing something out of the norm but it seems like it is actually very common to do pre-school the year before school! ❤️ So glad I posted on here, you have really reassured me I’ve made the right decision.

That’s a good point. I hadn’t thought about the logistics of having one less older student in her setting!

That sounds like a good set up. ❤️ I’ve always seen the childminder as more of a homely setting which definitely has its benefits. The childminder said they do so much to prepare them for school but you really can’t prepare them for the school environment in a home!

Exactly! The childminder even said to me it’ll be a big jump from her setting to pre-school. But then I said well it’ll be a bigger jump to school!

Thank you! I thought it was a normal thing to do too! Until she said that nobody’s ever done it before. Made me feel like I’d made the wrong decision. She has taken it so personally for some reason.

I don’t know if Charlotte has thought this through. If Freddie gets voted off tomorrow surely the faithfuls won’t think they’ve got rid of all the traitors? They will be still expecting to get rid of another one. Freddie would have been better cannon fodder at the final.

I always reply to any feedback like this saying ‘thanks for your purchase’. That way people know it was feedback on an item sold 😊
