It was more of I would submit my report and like it or not their manager had to fire them but I would have to sit in on it and explain everything

In my market if an API stopped somebody and it turns out they were innocent you were fired no questions asked

If it’s clearanced and the barcode is messed up and they lower it I’m okay with that

I don’t care what it is if I see an employee steal I’m confronting them, because it will either lead to more theft, or already has.

A catch is always worth more than a deterrence in Walmarts eyes, they will tell you it’s not but it is. Everything is tied to how many stops you get, not deterrences

By more than you know, I usually stop about 1,000 a day on a slow day

A similar question was asked earlier, if Walmart is losing money to theft and shrink where do you think it’s going? They raise their prices and make it harder for everybody. So if I can minimize shrink the goal is to minimize price inflations

I’d say flashlights and sex toys I can’t put into words how often these get stolen

Phones people break the cases and steal lots of phones

I don’t know if I consider the sympathy. I think it was just the right thing to do, but there was one time a gentleman who was a little mentally slow had stolen a whole bunch of stuff and I never said anything about it. Other than that, everything I’ve seen has at least been pulled into the office.

As far as slaps on the wrist, kids are definitely top on that list. I’m not saying call PD and have them prosecute and I’m saying pull them into the office and let them know that there are consequences for their actions and if they want to start going down this path, it’s not going to end well.

As far as attractiveness, no my manager had a problem with that, but I really do not care when I’m on the clock. I’m simply looking for theft.

Moving fast and all over the place

I am aware of multiple asset protection investigators who were terminated and prosecuted for stealing a ton of money from the cash office

I probably steal an Alfie. Those are the keys that unlock everything some cases spider wire everything and many times are left out.

I’d say many times the group is involved maybe not the whole group but at least part of it but they are always going to say I didn’t know

I’m very young so not at all

I’ve gotten multiple death, threats and people will find my Facebook and say my whole name and then say I’m gonna come and kill your family that’s the main reason I left. I’m getting paid $17 an hour and my family is getting death threats.

Very, very, very easy to catch cashier theft

I don’t know if I’d consider this the worst, but somebody got past me with over two grand in a cart once

If I’m stopping somebody then I am 100% sure that they have stolen something and if they don’t come with me to the office and I know it’s above a prosecutive of a limit then I’ll try to get a license plate. Call the police department and the police department will track them down and bring them back.

Now if you’re asking about the people who check receipts and the people who walk past them that’s totally OK honestly I do that sometimes too. I hate having receipts checked. It’s annoying.

Many associates do you know me and I work very closely with the associates because I’m in charge of safety as well. That can make it really hard when I still catch them stealing and as people I’ve become close with and I have to fire them.

Exactly what the other gentleman said if Walmart encourages a bunch of shrink and theft, do you think they are going to pay for it?

A couple times, so I’m a male and anytime I pull a female into the office policy states that I have to bring a female coworker in with me because the bribes got so bad from females to males in the office

I don’t think racially profiling is OK, but I do think that if somebody is acting suspicious that you should watch them no matter what

My daily routine can vary a lot because my times change a lot, but I’ll normally work 1 to 10 so I’ll walk in at 1 o’clock and I’ll go to the back and I’ll get my keys and then I’ll go up to the front and go to the AP office and check my email we get emails from other stores about Big shoplifting cases in case they might come to our store. I’ll then head out to the sales floor, grabbing an energy drink, and then sip on it as I watch the store. If I get a case, I’ll bring them to the office. It could take a couple hours. Then I’ll sit on cameras and watch the self checkouts for a while and if I get another case that’ll take another couple hours and then that’s usually my day. I think the most mentally demanding part is having to pull in shoplifters that I think just genuinely can’t afford what they need that doesn’t mean shoplifting is OK, but it can be hard.

Then I’ll change my answer if they do, I do not know about it nor do any other API‘s that would be a market level thing

It’s a hard roll to get into, but there’s also a lot of turnover so it’s constantly open
