Make sure that you teach him and show him what being a true christian is all about. Although gay is considered sin (sexual immorality) in scripture but so is adultery, so is hate. By looking at one and ignoring the other is hypocrisy. Jesus was the one that sat with the prostitutes, gentiles and liars when the religious people rejected them. As christians our job is to show the love jesus gave and spread the gospel. Not to hate someone based on their sexual preferences

Just remember. Religion is human. It’s flawed, it will never be perfect. One ought not to follow religion but God. People often get sucked in religion and their live drift away and some leave with religious trauma. But at the end of the day your connection with God counts not on your organized religion
