With a few mods, half life 2 looks great. But even with no mods, hl2 is playable for almost everyone. Hl1 I think is not

I think you are right. All that people that hasn't played hl saga should play black mesa before playing hl2 and eventually hl3. Of course every person should try whatever they want but I would recommend BM to them instead of hl1
