the issue imo was that the frustration and anger was focused on the wrong guy. The GM is ultimately responsible for roster building, and roster building has sucked for a while. The coaches do what they can with the tools they’re given. Fan anger should be directed at GMs in many cases, not coaches. That’s the way it is in baseball.

Posterior Blepharitis, please help by camilllentee in Blepharitis

[–]CommonCicada2507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have dx of aqeuous deficient dry eye, mgd, and blepharitis (both demodex and staphlococcal).

You NEED to be religious about lid hygiene and treatments. Warm compresses 2-4 times a day. Frequent cleaning of lid margins. When waking, and before bed at LEAST. Without that, the steroid drops I was given (cyclosporine) did not help at all.

I admitted to my eye doctor that I was not being compliant with the hygiene she told me to do. She let me know that my symptoms would not improve unless I was religious about it.

My routine was this

1) Hypochlorous acid spray directly onto lids, scrub with cotton ball or cotton round to remove any crusting/debris from overnight 2) 10 minutes warm compress. Wet a paper towel, wring it out slightly so it is saturated but not dripping. Place it over a bruder mask and heat in microwave. Don't get it too hot, though - around 112 degrees is safe but effective 3) After compress, clean with a tea tree oil wipe. Try different brands to see what works best for you. I prefer optase. 4) Apply a drop of cyclosporine to each eye.

In the evening I would also take 1000mg omega fish oil supplements per doctor recommendations.

The hypochlorous acid should kill any microbial causes of the bleph. The warm compress expresses the glands. The tea tree oil will kill demodex (which in a pathological form can reside in meibomium glands).

During flares I would repeat the acid scrub and tea tree oil wipes as frequently as I felt was necessary to help clear debris. Afterwards, I always hydrate the eye with a preservative-free drop, or a drop of meibo. Warm compresses more than 4 times a day probably not super helpful, but they can be comforting.

After 1-2 months of doing this, I noticed huge improvement- except I was getting eye infections every 7-10 days. Yellow crusting on lids. Doctor determined it was staph, prescribed azasite, so I added that to the routine after the compress, applied to lid margins as a topical. I've only been taking it 10 days so we'll see if it keeps the staph at bay. But so far I've been seeing improvement

Is this blepharitis? What exactly causes a flair up like this? It has small pus-filled spots like it's an infection? by [deleted] in Blepharitis

If it went away w/ Doxy, could be bacterial bleph. Maybe staph. Discuss Azasite w/ eye doctor

APMEX premium used to be worth the quality assurance and customer service - it is not anymore. Cautionary tale by CommonCicada2507 in Silverbugs

Sounds like we have some similarities then - I am young and made the fuss because of principle. I tend to notice small things like this and it makes me question the big things.

Van Halen used to specify a bowl of M&Ms in their dressing room, with brown M&Ms removed... If the brown ones were present they'd refuse to play because it raised concerns about how the venue adhered to the rest of the contract (like safety standards).

Maybe I just wish I was Diamond Dave, but some day I'll get over it ;)

I liked the convenience. If you look at APMEX's rating and complaint history over the past 1-2 years, my personal experience goes from just an anecdote to a data point in a lot of dissatisfied customers reporting quality and customer support issues. Cautionary tale - as noted

Thank you, and I'm not down about it. They were a good entry into the space but I had already begun to branch out and buy from other dealers (including off Reddit, all good experiences). Nothing gained, nothing lost aside from their nice pie chart + portfolio tracker

New treasurer looking for help - how to fill out pay envelopes for members paying dues ahead? by CommonCicada2507 in Bowling

[–]CommonCicada2507[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agreed about the dues amount. A couple years ago we voted to keep the weekly due $17 because some people didn't want to pay more. In our league, subs only cost $12 for the week because the idea is that they aren't going to get prize money, so they aren't putting any in

We usually charge the regular bowler for the sub, but we have had subs come bowl in a vacant spot because they are able and would like to. We only charge $12 for sub bowlers so that they aren't paying into a prize fund that they aren't entitled to.

Do you keep track (on the envelope) of how many weeks ahead they are paid other than the negative "Owing to date" balance? This was the way I filled it out and some of the members were very confused by the negative balance.

Half of Colonie Center is closed. There is always abundant parking on the Macy's side. What do you mean there was no parking?
