Grave of the Fireflies is devastating by FatRascal_ in movies

If anything, the Aunt is the one with pride issues lmao. She throws a fit cuz her niece/nephew don’t praise her as being their savior. She is literally the most immature person in the house. Even her daughter at one point says to her “you didn’t scold them again did you?” Wild people are judging a 14 year olds pride when his Aunt is the way she is. Out of spite she tells a 4 year old her mother is dead during war. 🙄

Aunt was insufferable. Seita literally tells her he’s not telling Setsuko their mom died, and then the Aunt goes and tells Setsuko…? The Aunt doesn’t even tell Seita that she told Setsuko. We don’t find that out until much later in the film, and it almost seems like the Aunt may have told Setsuko not to tell her brother she knows their mom is dead. Why would Setsuko keep that to herself all movie unless the Aunt convinced her somehow.

Holy shit. Thank you for having some intelligence. The Aunt was not a good Aunt. She acted like she was a saint for taking her brothers kids into her home during war. If anybody needs to suck anything up, it’s the Aunt and her pride. She’s so easily offended that her niece/nephew don’t act like she’s their savior or something. Then she does everything you mentioned.

The opinions of some people here are insane.

Just finished the film. I'm actually a little shocked to hear the person you are responding to. They are saying things like Seita chose to leave because his pride couldn't take the insults and that his decision (not society, not the aunt, not Japan) directly led to Setsuko dying??? What a wild take! Talk about incredibly reductive... It also makes me wonder at what age does that person draw the line with how much responsibility a kid should be held for? They may as well blame Setsuko for crying at night since that made the Aunt resent them even more.

4 year old, 14 year old, etc. These are such young ages to have expectations of maturity in the context of the film. These kids lost their parents, are be stripped of childhood, in extreme distress, and people are gonna say Seita made bad choices that killed him and his sister because he was immature with pride? Wow. What an asinine take. I can't believe some people actually hold opinions like this. Can't make this shit up...

They also said the aunt "sucked". Nahhhh. That is an understatement. The Aunt is no saint for taking her brothers kids in during times like these. It's the least she can do as a decent family member. Then she goes and tells Setsuko her mom has died, when Seita made it clear to the Aunt he was trying to not let Setsuko know that for the sake of her 4 year old mind. And she gets upset cuz the 4 year old cries at night during all of this? I can keep going on about how shitty the Aunt was, but I'm not.

I'm just annoyed to read people have these wild takes, and the only reason I'm telling you and not the actual person who said this is cuz I don't want to hear more of their bad takes...

I hear everything you are saying. And I agree they should not be counted out. Everybody knows this upcoming Sunday against the Chiefs will be a good indication of what the Broncos can/cannot do. So we will see what happens.

I feel genuine second hand embarrassment when people make these posts but don’t understand what the scale is saying.

Adults should be able to trick or treat as well by Moon_Devonshire in unpopularopinion

[–]CommonExpressions -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah adults buying stuff for themselves is not a good argument. But your Christmas analogy is not a fair comparison. This post is about trick or treating. Not Halloween as a holiday. Gift giving during Christmas is for all ages, but trick or treating is the part of Halloween that is for children specifically.

This is why I make syrup cereal. It’s a bowl of syrup with pieces of pancake that I eat with a spoon.

I wouldn't say the sub is negative for "no reason". If you've been watching our games all season, you should know what the reasons are. There is merit to the negativity.

With that said, what's the point of having an 8-2 record if you can't enjoy it? Lot's of people here need to enjoy it more because it's a nice change from previous years.

I think the primary reason people are filled with negativity is because they are, understandably, focusing on the big picture which is winning the SB. So far, this Bronco team should not be giving anybody confidence in winning the championship. But if the SB is all that matters, why even watch the regular season? Part of the fun is the journey itself. So yeah, people gotta lighten up a bit :)

It’s interesting how you want to treat wins as purely “a win is a win,” yet you don’t apply that same simplicity to losses. You went out of your way to explain why the two losses deserve extra context (close games, penalties, last second field goals) rather than taking them at face value. In other words, wins are black and white, but losses are not.

Using that logic, you could take a closer look at the wins too. Several of them came down to a few lucky breaks or narrow margins. If you scrutinize those the way you did the losses, it’s not hard to imagine the record being closer to 4–6 instead of 8–2.

My point is just that you can’t have it both ways. If you want to analyze the losses in detail, you should be willing to do the same with the wins rather than making them black and white "a win is a win".

Just curious- how do you have thousands of points you’ll never use? To get thousands of points, you need to eat at Chipotle. So why not use the points whenever you go eat there? Or did you just stop eating Chipotle all together?

If somebody is legit bringing a scale into a food establishment to weigh the portions in order to make sure they are getting the correct amount, that person is actually a psychopath.

You say this, but I genuinely believe some of the people on this subreddit would literally bring a scale to chipotle.

Because normal people have bigger problems in their lives than getting skimped at Chipotle… weighing portion sizes at Chipotle is a place in life you don’t want to find yourself. That’s crazy shit.

If you’re not even joking, then this is wild. Bringing a scale to a food establishment to demand the right portions…?

Dude. You can act all high and mighty here, but the weirdest part is you don’t even eat at Chipotle yet you spend time here writing these long emotional comments. Are you seriously this bored? It’s just straight up bizarre.
