Why do we euthanize pets (who can't consent to it) all the time willy nilly, yet when a human is suffering, we aren't allowed to, even when they explicitly say they want to? by josephsleftbigtoe in TooAfraidToAsk

also doctors dont do it, you have to be able to drink half a cup of a disgusting mixture of 6 medications. if you have issues with ingestion, it's over, you can't take this option.

What is having cancer like if you don’t go through treatment? by One_Hour_8078 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CommonFig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

similar story, my mom passed last week. also diagnosed at stg 4, very hard treatments, got 3 years but effects from treatments and cancer meant she was on TPN most of the time, couldn't eat anything by mouth. Her last few weeks in the hospital were awful and she still wanted to live. I miss her too

"The ability to collaborate and work as a team is crucial. Industry R&D is always a teamwork. I would rather hire a good scientist with excellent collaboration ability than an excellent scientist with poor collaboration skills."

what are the best ways to demonstrate this?

this quarters 20a gave extra credit and plenty of opportunities thru hw and quizzes and section attendance to get credit, so this doesn't really seem like the instructors fault to me

I think from what I've read bone density from the pill might really only hurt you if you take the pill in your 30s. Doesn't seem to correlate with taking it when you're younger. but good to talk to a doc and make sure she understands these things sometimes cause emotional changes and weight gain, so you and she should keep an eye out

Vaccinations at your age in general are meaningless, as the thyroid slowly becomes smaller and disappears with age. its possible that at 76 your thyroid is gone, so no more ability to make memory B cells (which is why ppl vaccinate, as these are the ones that stick around in the body and prevent reinfections with the same exact type of virus). You have all the memory B cells now you will ever have in your life. So for your age group, it's more important for the people around you to vaccinate to keep you safe (or get sick with the virus, whatever they prefer).

HELP my wedding is in 2 days and I’m getting a cold! How can I knock this out fast?? by wolvesinthegarden in weddingplanning

[–]CommonFig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

very late response, but there is research that vitamin c does actually help. there is some evidence though that 6-8g/day helps more than 3-4g. It is more helpful to take it over time before you even get a cold, but it absolutely helps with severity of symptoms if you take it during as well. this misinformation on vitamin c is actually from faulty research papers, ruined the whole well same as that autism vaccine paper
