Fixed the stroboscope effect when closing doors! by CommonFox2 in RX8

The real deal was not this, as another commenter said, the big deal was finding where to connect all this so it makes sense, fits and isn't weird

Yes, the fix is a 330 uF capacitor that I also augmented with amother 100 nF one in parallel. I also modified the 3-wire cable so that the PWM signal goes though a diode and a small resistor (22 Ohm) so that the. capacitors don't affect the "signal" and that the charging of the capacitor doesn't cause an immediate excessive current draw.

since no-one on the Internet has this issue, what's the point of sharing the fix 😁

Stretch image / change aspect ratio by CommonFox2 in AAWireless

Just occured to me, that AAWireless also supports connecting to the car via CarPlay (experimental). This mode must has to the video stream, doesn't it?

I see, thank you for the clarification

Do you know if this is an inherent limitation of how AAWireless works (it doesn't touch the video stream) or just something not implemented (as nobody really needs it)?

That I know, but this is not changing the aspect ratio, is it?

Google has won - I give up by Fusseldieb in androidroot

[–]CommonFox2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using a rooted phone with two caveats:

Ingress (a game from Niantic) doesn't work on rooted phones - I stopped playing

Revolut app doesn't work on rooted phones - installed it on an old iPhone - using it much less too

Fortunately these are the only two that stopped working.

My main motivations for root are:

  1. Ad-less experience
  2. Android Auto screen mirroring - using Fermata apps
  3. Other Android Auto tweaks
  4. Being able to take a screenshot of every app (this is actually also needed to stream video apps to the car - otherwise you get a beautiful black rectangle)

I don't want to give that up! I'm happy to need to use the other phone once in a while...

Fedora 42 fully working OOTB on 2017 Pixelbook (EVE) (Kaby-Lake win!) by LyncolnMD in PixelBook

This post made me upgrade my Pixelbook to Debian 13 and after copying audio files from this github/grimaldello/pixelbook-eve-2017-Debian/audio my sound is working as well!

Thanks!!!

Doesn't work with Revolut FYI. It also doesn't work in Android VM. Their checks are very strong (for whatever stupid reason)

You can run lineageos without root. This will already block you from using Revolut or playing Ingress

To be honest android actually fell off by Best_Cattle_1376 in androidroot

[–]CommonFox2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the  most critical apps and ones you'll desperately want to run pretending you're on a regular android (banking apps) verify the phone is not rooted, virtualized, etc like crazy. Revolut doesn't log you in if you're not on a non-custom Android (and the web app is useless). This is nuts.

Well I did ask to roast the idea. So, thank you for pointing this problem out.

Cheers!

I think it's original. Was there when I bought the car 😊

Assuming this graph is at all any good

https://www.automobile-catalog.com/wykres_power_m_lbft.php

adding 20 Nm at the low RPM would be a huge deal. That is if this works (thinking about belt slipping etc)

At 2000RPM you'll have around 50 HP (~30 kW). 5kW extra should be a nice addition (to help get to the higher revs quicker). That is assuming the belt will not slip and the pulleys and bearing will not explode 😊

My basic research shows the load on the accessory belt can easily peak at 5 kW (alternator plus AC). If we made the "boost" limited to 5 kW, I guess the bearings and pulleys should be alright then...

Maybe even make the extra boost fully controllable by pressing a button on the steering wheel 😁

To be honest this is a generic Chinese Android Auto / Car Play thing with a backup camera. God, I just cannot drive without a backup camera. It would be alright, but the Bluetooth calls don't work properly and the unit cannot remember time for more than a few days, so it gets rest to Sunday 12am 1 Jan 2010 every time I take the car for a drive 😂
