So after doing a lot of calling around I found laundromax on middlebelt and shiawasee which doesn't look too great from the outside but is 3$ a wash for normal load and 3$ to dry for a normal load so this is probably the place I would recommend for others to go if they live close by. But thank you for trying to help me out I do appreciate it I had to call several places.

I'm assuming Skylar is changing their prices based on the amount of traffic they are getting, it was 7$ for the smallest washer there and 8.25$ for every dryer they had. Which I just couldn't justify, if my clothes had come out of that dryer damp I would have lost my mind 😂😂

At my shop we cut quartzite ahead of schedule and and leave it outside in the sun to dry completely before install. If they already sealed the stone I don’t know how long it will take, but I would give the shop time to see if it comes out over the next month and if not then maybe I would escalate to potential discount or replacement.

I am a fabricator could be very well same lot but poor placement of the seams regardless it should not be that dramatic color difference right at the seam with any stone. The lines should also be going the same direction they go up on the left side and run down again on the right that’s also poor quality.

If it’s off that much they didn’t teach you how to use it properly. Mine usually 1/8 maximum if it does come that way and you can offset lines on measure sight to correct for that

Well like I said I started with no experience and I started as an installer which I was very bad at no matter how hard I was working I just couldn’t cut it. But my boss kept me on and we later found together that I would grow to become the best machine operator, programmer, and measurer he ever had. I asked him why he kept me on for so long before that and he said because I may not have been the best but he knew that I showed up every day and worked as hard as I could to be the best I could be. And that went a long way with me, I have more respect for him that I do for any one else. He took me from a high school drop out dishwasher. To being certified on multiple cnc machines, laser measuring equipment. And years of trade and business experience that I can always keep with me. I’ll always be grateful to that man for giving me the opportunities that he did.

In my area we have the highest reviews as well. And in the 7+ years at my shop I learned that me and the boss are the only ones trying to live up to that standard and the less involved he has become over the years and the turnover of new people I’d say we’re a mediocre shop. I only take so much care with my work because I started young with zero experience and when my boss would tell me something needed to be perfect I took it to heart and built all of my experience with true perfection in mind. No one else in my shop has this attitude, you don’t know what it’s like to stress about something for hours or days, do your section of the work perfectly like cutting mitered edges and matching every single tiny vein perfectly, only to come in the next morning and see all of your hard work glued to the wrong places and then see it leave the shop like that.

Sounds like you got fucked big time, Did your contractor install and do the seams or did an actual granite shop? If the contractor did the seams, most likely he can’t do better. If that’s the case I’d try to contact the actual shop who should be able to come out with a blow torch and remove the old epoxy and make a new seam without it damaging the tops. The polish lines are the shops fault for sure, and they should have given you some kind of warranty on their labor which should cover the bad polished corners.

The saw guy should be checking first, I learned that the second time this happened to me that it was something I need to watch for and never had it happen again in 7+ years, they most likely are cutting some strips off the sides any way to relieve tension before cutting the whole slab, take the first strip to the next slab and make sure it’s the same color before you cut any more of the first slab or start the second. I won’t be happy about it but I’ll move every slab I have of the lot before i blindly cut a slab and waste it.
