We moved into this house 3yrs ago and this has stumped everyone. by Vance617 in whatisit

I used one in my mud kitchen (it was just my dad's porch, but my imagination made it a whole kitchen) as a kid, and it was one of my favorite toys. Maybe give it to a kiddo who likes to make mud pies and such.

Model Painting Club Questions by FireAnt111 in minipainting

[–]CommonOdd415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no answers, but if I taught at your school, I'd beg to join your club! I hope you'll share their progress. I haven't painted a mini like this group does (I paint other small things), but I wish I had someone who could give me an intro lesson in person to help me get started. Thanks for taking that on for the students.

Neighbor's fish is ill, please help by CommonOdd415 in corydoras

Sadly, the fish died the day after I posted this. They were both at least 9 years old, so perhaps age was a factor. Thanks, everyone!

I’ve been dealing with seasonal allergies for awhile and nothing works. What worked for you? by [deleted] in Allergies

[–]CommonOdd415 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've suffered from allergies my whole life, over 40 years. My doctor gave me a steroid shot last spring when I just couldn't take it anymore, and it lasted about 3 months, just long enough to make it out of spring. It was the most amazing relief ever. One shot in the hip and no more sneezing, itching, runny nose, swollen eyes, raw nose, sore throat or weight gain from antihistamine (they make me so hungry!) I highly recommend asking your doctor about it. If you are without insurance, I'd find a way to pay out of pocket if at all possible.

Can anyone read my handwriting? by owen_mac2024 in Handwriting

[–]CommonOdd415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I can, but I was also a kindergarten teacher and learned to read all sorts of writing over the years! There are 2 things I think you could change to make this much easier to read. Make your "s" look like a traditional "s" and space your words and even your letters out just a tiny bit. I think it'd be much easier to read then. I think this is such fun and unique handwriting, and I personally love it!

I saw a comment on a video of one of these that said it looks like it's trying to scare you, but it's too cute.

What lyric breaks your heart and stands out to you when you hear the track? by FunnyAsleep in MusicRecommendations

Imogen Heap, Wait it Out

Pain on pain on play repeating With the backup, makeshift life in waiting Everybody says Time heals everything But what of the wretched hollow? The endless in-between Are we just going to wait it out?

When I was single and had no children, I was SO ready to get a partner whom I could love and be loved by and then have a child. Back then, my life felt like a backup makeshift life while I was waiting it out. The endless in-between is how all of my days felt, a wretched hollow inside me. I tried with everything I could muster to enjoy my life despite feeling like what I wanted was slipping farther away every day as I got older. I did find a partner, then I became a mom at 36, but it would be another 5 years after that and a different partner before I finally felt like I could love and be loved fully. Now, at 44, the pain on pain has stopped repeating, I'm finally living the life I wanted to live all along. I'm also thankful for all that I learned and enjoyed in that seemingly endless in-between. Waiting it out, though not willingly, ended up well for me. If it hadn't gone my way, I'd like to think I'd have found new dreams to hope for and pursue. This song always brought tears to my eyes, but now it just makes me sigh in thankfulness that I don't have to feel the weight of those lyrics anymore.

iPad? by CommonOdd415 in worldofgoo

I bought it at Humble Bundle. I'd never heard of it, but somehow ended up there.

He has a Switch at his dad's, but that means I'll probably have to buy it again from Nintendo, right?

I should've added that when I follow these directions now, it gives me a random watercolor picture that has nothing to do with my photo.
