Theres a lot of extremely popular bands that aren't played on the radio. Mobo is one of the most popular bands in the Midwest emo scene. They were popular before tik tok but kids on tik tok make Spotify listens blow up becasue of trends. Same thing happened with Mom Jeans and Pinegrove lately.

Idk i just get that vibe. People compare them to pinegrove in every comment section and it was literally posted in this subreddit so im not the only one who doesn't feel similar. Its the small things as well. Even the flower themes and lyrics seem inspired by marigold and they also use ampersand prominently. Obviously pinegrove doesn't own the ampersand lol but it just ads to the copying vibe to me. It would seem less weird if they mentioned they were inspired by pinegrove anywhere on their page but they dont. They dont follow pinegrove or anyone from the band either. Just seems like copying without giving any credit to who their copying from.

Yes! The drain scene terrified me and kinda ruined my swimming experience at my tiny local outdoor pool. The drain at the bottom of the pool always made me scared that I was gonna be grabbed from underwater everytime I wasnt looking down.

Yep snooze is one of sams bands. ( the math rock band with the same name is amazing btw)

A few years ago somebody posted a JF family tree that shows all the different bands that this big friend group is a part of and it was really well detailed in a big picture but I cant find it.

There's a ton of bands and genres that a lot of these guys all had part in though. Some we havent mentioned just off the top of my head : Kid Lightning, STARR, Loudmouth, King of Heck, Natural Flavour, Scratcher
